I love the SLR pro Pop-UP Shade. I do alot of outside photography and this helps to view in the direct sunlight. The other piece I added was the eyepiece extender (EP-EX15)works well together

This is great to have when shooting outdoors in bright sunlight. You can actually view the screen, it is easy to install, just open it carefully.

This works great on my Canon 40D. Easy install and removal. Makes a big difference for viewing the LCD screen in sunny conditions.

This product was great for the first week of use, then the spring that keeps the the shade up broke out when I opened it. That cause the support to swing out and fall off. When I tried to reinstall it the peices that keep it inplace broke off. I thought I'd be ok with just the right side still intact, but I guess the added strain did that one in, because two days later the same thing happened on that side. It can still be used as a protector for the LCD, but the stick on LCD protectors (which are much cheaper) do the same. Do not buy this unless Delkin does some serious remanufacturing, or hope that you get a better example than I did.

I was actually surprised that the pop-up shade is actually removable to leave you with a nice LCD cover if you don't have the need at the time to have the pop-up shade. It does stick out a bit compared to having the LCD so be prepared to clean it if you have your pop-up shade off.

Yes, the pop-up shade is easily installed and removed. It opens easily, and closing is done with one hand. No fuzz. Using the viewfinder my nose and breath do not smudge the lcd screen when the shade is closed. Also it protects the screen against damage. Using UV-filters and hoods on precious lenses is mandatory. Protecting the screen on the camera... obviously I do!
Only drawback is when shooting at ground level. If I was a frog, I wouldn't mind viewing the shaded screen...

I did not like this pop up shade at all.
The buttons don't work very well...... Try a different style, model or brand!

I purchased the Pop-Up shade for myself (Canon EOS 40D) and a Pop-up Shade for the Nikon D 80 for my sister-in-law. They make viewing the screen in bright daylight so much easier - and the LCD screen is protected while in the case.Have to pre-plan shots if you've been using the pop-up and learn to be quick at retracting it ...Great price at B&H [...]

Item fits the camera well but I can see that over time it is going to come loose. With limited use I can already tell the fit is not as tight as it was new. The screen from the bright light works well but you have to open and close it all the time if you want to view your shot. I do like the protection that it give the LCD lens. The buttons line up well today but stay tuned......

This is a well-made unit which does exactly what you want it to do: shield the sun so you can see your LCD clearly in the daylight.

One problem: If you know you're going to be indoors, you really don't want the thing there--and it's hard to get on and off.

After having smashed an LCD screen once, I've gone to one of these with great success. I don't need to review every shot (either you know you've got it or you don't) but having the option to check every once in a while is great. This shade is totally removable, but still leaves a protective cover over the LCD, while giving you full time access to view the screen. OR, you can leave the shade on and pop it up as you need. Truly VERSATILE! The best design yet from Delkin! The only complaint I have is it took too long to make it to market after the 40D was released! An essentional accessory!

For years I have went without these things but in direct sunlight could never even use the LCD screen as I couldn't see it. I have used the plastic protective covers by themselves over all glass screens. This does the job of both items to protect screen & shade the LCD. The thing I like most is that you can remove the shade when not outside so as to get it out of the way. I do reccomend the eye-cup extenders sold for each camera so as to extend view without smashing nose into screen.

Pros:It really works the way it was promised!It WORKS!!!
Cons:The lower end of it- is not well-fixed to the camera,therefore sometimes it shifts to the sides a bit,and you may experience trouble with pushing lower buttons on your camera...

This device fits great onto the back of the camera and provides the view I need in bright light conditions. One thing I really like is the fact that the shade comes off without taking off the entire device so, when I don't need it, I can remove it easily.
