If you are in the market for an affordable photographer's step-ladder then the Pearstone 3-Step Ladder may be for you. This lightweight ladder is strong -- each step supports 330 lbs (150kg). The top step is 30" (76.2cm) -- just the right height to shoot overhead in a crowd. Its safety rail helps prevent you from joining the crowd horizontally. When you've got your shots, this ladder folds flat to only 3.5" thick, making it easy to stow.
The Pearstone 3-Step Ladder is an excellent tool for shooting in the studio, on location, at home or anywhere else you may need it.

This three step ladder is useful for a home owner as well as for photography / video work. It has replaced my step ladder for almost all work around my house. The Pearstone Heavy Duty Three Step ladder is very easy to carry around the house. It sets up easily, and supports me as well as whatever I am carrying. When set up, it is rock solid, yet takes up a smaller foot print than my step ladder. The carry handle built into each step makes it a snap to close and move on to the next task. The padded grip at the top of the ladder provides hand stability when standing on the steps.I do not need a ladder with wheels. For my purpose, the ability to haul equipment as a hand truck is not needed.I considered other three step ladders from big box stores and major online retailers. I feel lucky to find and choose the Pearlstone PSL3 for general painting, installing blinds, reaching high shelves, and, yes, photography.

Comments about Pearstone PSL3 Three-Step Heavy Duty Photographer's Ladder:
After carrying a light aluminum step ladder with me to every shoot and sometimes getting the feeling that it wasn't made for a 200# + photographer, this has a nice feeling of security. It's a little heavier but not enough to keep it from being portable. Nicely built with large steps.

I bought this ladder to use for wedding shoots. It was perfect for getting up high for fisheye and wide angle shots. The handle gives a little extra sense of security by giving you something to lean against. Very sturdy and light enough to carry on location. I would highly recommend.

Comments about Pearstone PSL3 Three-Step Heavy Duty Photographer's Ladder:
I needed a stepladder that (1) I could use in photographing desert plants and creatures, (2) would surely support my, shall we say, greater than average weight, (3) give me solid side rails to support my tricky legs and back, (4) slide into the rather small and cluttered back of a Prius. This ladder does all that. It's not too heavy, and it exudes strength. I'm glad I got it.

I'm standing short at 5'5" and always in a situation when on a video shoot to ask the host for something to stand on, most times I would be walking around with a milk cartoon or a kick-along stool, when I saw this ladder at B&H it was love and first sight. not only does it give me the advantage for over crowd shoots but I feel safe standing on it's steps and I'm looking good.

If you're wondering why you should spend a few more bucks than the step ladders you get at your local store, here's some ideas. When I first looked at a ladder like this it was ten years ago and the going price was around $200. So, not having those kinds of funds I went to my local hardware store and bought a cheap step ladder. Not at all the same thing. The cheap ladders are, well, cheap. They clank when you pick them up, they are heavy and the one I bought was bright white and about a foot shorter than this ladder.
This is a solid ladder, and its quite tall. Because the steps are plastic it's fairly light. When I stand on the third step I find I am standing around 9 feet in the air. The second step is plenty high enough for me.
If you were born vertically challenged and you need a little extra height, this is the ticket. My only suggestion it to put your company name on the bottom of the ladder with your phone number in case you leave it behind somewhere. Though I am six feet tall, I often have to stand on chairs at receptions to shoot over peoples heads. Not anymore. It's tacky and the second step on this ladder will get me much higher than any chair will. The third step would be great for group shots.

Having gotten tired of standing on boxes, crates, kitchen chairs, park benches, and barstools (and looking like I flunked the audition for Cirque du Soleil), I finally bought the Pearstone ladder. I love it. It is very stable, even on the top tread, and it is easy to lean against the rail while shooting. The wheels are great on pavement, but naturally aren't very effective on grass or sand. It folds quite flat. The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars is its weight - it is a bit heavy. But its heaviness helps its stability. It is certainly worth the price. I was nuts not to have bought it sooner.

Well, this is a great tool. I am a second semester student in Photojournalism. I constantly shoot around campus. Bare in mind, i do get looks from fellow students. All i have to say is, i am getting better results from my photos. Hmm, it is a bit heavy moving spot to spot, but you will like the results. For the price, this is a great ladder.
