The Tenba Roadie Rolling Photo Case, Small (Black) is a photo and laptop rolling case that holds a medium to large professional digital SLR, or even medium format camera system, as well as a laptop (including most 17" models). The case is made of a weather-repellent ballistic nylon exterior, with honeycomb support frames inside. It meets major airline/aircraft carry-on standards, and it even fits under most full-size airline seats. The case has a removable padded camera compartment and a separate laptop compartment in the lid. The Roadie has a removable shoulder strap for "off-the-ground" carrying, and steel Tri-Angle D-rings.
Roadies are built to withstand serious professional use, with heavy-duty, smooth and silent-rolling wheels and casters, industrial/military-grade webbing, and massive reinforcement in all stress and load-bearing areas.

My wife and I use the Roadie to transport TWO Canon 40D's on airplanes. It fits on every plane, domestic and international. It is made of VERY high quality materials that do a good job of protecting our cameras & gear. It also holds and protects our 15" MacBook Pro laptop.
The only negative is that if you heavily pack the exterior pockets, it can grow to be too tall to fit inside an airplane's overhead storage bin. You'll have to compress your contents in order for it to fit, which could damage your laptop.

I had to write because I am journalist desperate for a bag that won't kill my back but can horde both laptop and gear.
I tried to take it on assignment and found that it works just fine--when you are on location. Although its so bulky you might want to bring a smaller bag along once you get there.
Pros:
the bag can hold a lot of stuff
very sturdy body construction
Cons!!!
-didn't even make it onboard the first flight because while it may be short its too fat!! and didn't fit in the overhead compartment
-the handle is sooo flimsy
-and the strap kept falling underneath it and getting caught under the wheels
an expensive lesson i wish no one else to repeat!!
You might be able to travel with this if you are willing to gamble whether it will fit on the plane. if you fear letting your equip out of your sight for even a second forget about it.

Wel made. Enough room for a few lenses. Nice accessory area. Nice that it can double as a travel bag.

I am a professional wedding photographer and am moving around all day with my equipment from one location to another. The Small Tenba Rolling Roadie Case is the perfect size for my camera, lenses, batteries, chargers, flash, and other accessories. When I shoot in the studio it is also fits my laptop computer and power cord. The best part of the bag is the wheels. Instead of carrying the nag all day and stressing my back and shoulder I can simply pull it. The bag is also very well made, with heavy duty zippers, linings, and padding. I would recommend this bag to all professional photographers :)

I travel all over the united states to photograph portrait session. I don't carry a lot of gear...1D Markii, back up SLR, two lenses and a flash, with minor accessories such as memory cards, etc.
Highlights: best customizable inserts on any bag I've found. Deep enough to fit the full body Mark ii, hard case gives me confidence if I have to check or gate check my bag, perfect size.
Drawbacks: Doesn't always fit in the overhead bin, is too wide to roll down some airplane aisles, the handle when it's pushed down can sometimes dig into your hip when you're carrying it with the shoulder strap because the handle is stowed outside the bag.
All in all a very sturdy and well made bag. I love it.

I just took it on a trip. I wanted a bag that I could carry my 17 inch Powerbook, and my Nikon N90 and three lenses and all of the necesary chargers. It worked very well, and I was able to store it in the on the overhear bin on the flight. The only problem I had was that the pulling handle sometimes did not lock in place.

I searched for hours upon hours for a carry on case for my camera gear and a very large laptop. Unfortunately my Small Roadie will only do 1/2 the job, as my laptop doesn't fit. I love the case anyway. Great padding, lots of dividers, not too heavy when its loaded and it fit into Hawaiian's overhead bin! They have one of the smallest overheads in the industry. My only concern is the telescoping handle. It doesn't seem that strong or sturdy but time will have to tell. Overall, I am happy with the bag.

I carry my gear onto the plane and then wheel it all behind me when I walk from the parking area to the media center at the race tracks. It sure makes it easier to have wheels, a handle, and one bag that holds my camera gear AND my laptop.

I received this (requested it from Santa) for Christmas and I can't wait to use it in a few weeks when I take my first business trip of 2009. I wanted a case with wheels that could hold my camera gear and my laptop and this certainly does that.
Overall, it seems a bit higher than it might need to be. But then I open it and find that my lens can't stand up in it without the cover closing on it, as opposed to closing just above it. Not a real problem for me though as I simply lay the lens on its side. There is ample room in this bag for my remaining gear so I expect this bag will be just wanted I needed!
Great construction. Sturdy throughout. Tough zippers that should last longer than me!

Very nice camera and laptop roller case.
Wish the laptop side actually could open and be useful as a table-top; but the zipper section doesn't open completely to allow for this type of use.
Also, wish this would accommodate the tripod as does the large roadie. Didn't realize this was an option with the large and not with the small until I received the case and saw the manufacturer's information card hanging from the case.

Fits a LOT of gear (DSLR w/ 70-200 f2.8 and multiple other lenses+accessories) yet still fits as carry on bag on most commercial aircraft. Dell 17" laptop fit easily. I looked at many other cases and am very pleased with this case. Could use a strap to hold smaller case in place on top while walking through airport.
