The Manfrotto 521PFI is a focus/iris remote control designed to be used with Panasonic prosumer cameras, including the AG-DVX100B and AG-HVX200. Features include focus and iris manual adjustment, focus min and max adjustment, as well as re-write position references for the iris and focus knobs.

This device adds great functionality to compact camcorders. The controls are smooth and quite responsive. I love the ability to set a focus range for those dramatic shallow depth of field "rack focus" shots. The construction seems solid enough to stand up to rempte production use.

The focus remote is a bit big, but it is really useful.
The big wheel controls the focus while the dial on the top controls iris. There are a bunch of options for turning on manual functions or auto.
Its really well made and strong. Its not the most ergonomically designed product but it is really functional.

Coming from Sony and Canon camera's this remote also needs an additional second remote to get zoom and record functionality on the tripod.

We have both this and the vari-zoom model for use with our HPX-10 and HVX-200's. This one is larger and only has half the functionality of the varizoom(zoom is separate) - there is better focus controls and the ability to set minimum and maxims focal range.

A great device! The focus wheel is large, well damped, precise - 2.5 inches in diameter - with a markable area for a grease pencil. The iris dial is also large and precise. Most importantly, this device lets you set the top and bottom of the focal range - which means you can set two points to be used for rack focus. Ideal! Great build quality, great feel, great extended functionality! More people should know about this! Certainly the best of the HVX/DVX Focus/Iris controllers!
P.S. By setting the max and min focal range, you can also get rid of the "slack" at the end of the HVX/DVX's focal range... that is, have a hard stop at infinite focus, rather than the "useless" area "beyond" infinity at the end of the HVX's built-in focal range.
