The Elinchrom 26061 Snoot with 10° Grid attaches to the front of any Elinchrom flash head. It consists of the #26425 Snoot, which narrows the spread of light from the flash head, and the #26426 10° grid, which narrows the spread even more. Use this for extreme light control on small areas of your subject to bring up detail and decrease the highlight-to-shadow ratio.

The Elinchrom snoot fits any Elinchrom light and narrows the light to a shaft that can be further directed with the accompanying 10-degree grid. Useful for spot lighting, or as a hair light on a single subject when placed above.
The unit is made completely from metal (except perhaps the grid itself), and is sturdy and able to handle the heat from the modeling light on full on my D-lites. Painted black matte inside and out, and prevents any light escaping from unwanted areas. It's considerably higher quality than some of the lesser items I've bought, so for me it warrants the extra investment.
Caution is that it adds significant weight to lamp, so make sure you have a counterweight attached to the boom you'll use for this or it will fall over.
At a nighttime wedding reception, after I finished shooting the arranged couples at the cocktail reception, I turned the shoot to my stack of cases covered with a black backdrop cloth on top of which I had placed a little display sign and the snoot with just the modeling light doubled as a little retail display light highlighting my name and business cards. A nice little extra.

Comments about Elinchrom Snoot with 10 Degree Grid:
What a great product! I had been struggling to get some separation between my model and the dark background with dark hair and this really does the trick! Built of sturdy metal and very easy to use.

Comments about Elinchrom Snoot with 10 Degree Grid:
I am using this snoot to create a subtle hair light for my portraits ... and it works great.
Versatile; can take the grid off & on ...
One thing not so great about it is that it comes off easily ... sometimes a bit too easily. However, it has not fallen off when in use, so it's ok.

Comments about Elinchrom Snoot with 10 Degree Grid:
Awesome addition to my studio lighting accessories, a must for portraits and often use just by itself for dramatic lighting shots.
Only comment on the grid is the 3 plastic prongs that attach it to the snoot could be a little more sturdy... Overall, item is great and beats making your own and some cheap after-market alternatives!

Well made and (obviously) easy to use. Directs well. Yes, I know you can make one cheaper but why fool around. It isn't that much compared to investment in lights ect. Would definitely buy again.
