The bag fits everything I need: Nikon D80, Sigma 150 macro lens, Nikon 18-200mm VR lens, Flash, Ring Flash, about a dozen SD cards, camera manual, and all of my other camera gear. The only downside that I have found is that there is not a lot of other room for a hoodie or rain jacket except for the mesh water bottle holder. I was looking also at the Lowepro's Fastpack 350. The Fastpack is nice because of the easy access and more gear storage except it was bulky and honestly pretty ugly and does not have the tripod holder. I love the flipside because I am an outdoorsman and like the sleekness when I hike and am out and about. I did not want a cumbersome bag which would get in my way when climbing. The Flipside keeps my gear secure and safe, is comfortable to wear, and simply has everything you need in a day bag with nothing you don’t.

Sturdy and well made bag. All straps adjust widely so it easily fits my portly self. Will easily hold my camera (D80) with a pro lens, another lens and some accessories, but not as big as it looks in terms of places for flash, and multiple small accessories. Also, it is hard to reach the bottom of the bottom side compartments because cover does not unzip far enough.

I love this bag, it's very well comparmentalized and fits everything I have so far. I especially love the fact that the camera is safely tucked in when you open the bag unlike many other bags I tried.

Comments about Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I will be traveling in the third world through throngs of people and needed a camera case that is comfortable strong and secure. This one has a zipper opening that will be flush against my back so that no one behind me could open the case and run off with the camera. It also has a strap which you can tie around your waist and then releasing the shoulder straps swing the camera around to your front like a lap desk and get to your gear without putting the bag down. I got it in blue just in case someone got a hold of it, it could be more easily spotted in crowds. A thoughtful design, but could have used some more zippered pockets inside for memory cards etc.

Good value and most important, quite comfortable. only problem is that strap in the front keeps detaching. like the fact that it has a pouch for a tripod. not hard on back like the sling shot, which i no longer use.

I own a d700 with a battery grip and this bag fits this very well. Its deep enough to have the grip attached and it fits fine. Im able to bring my 24-70, 16-35, and 60mm macro and still have room left over. I tried the 200 but it was too small for me.

Comments about Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I have had several backpacks and this one by far is the best one I have ever had for traveling lightweight. I use this to carry my Canon 7D, Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens, 2 other smaller len's, charger and a flash. That's about all you can fit into the bag. The bag has a nice security feature that when it's on your back the camera equipment compartment cannot be opened. This is a great feature. It also has a waist strap that allows you to take the shoulder straps off and turn the bag around your waist to access the zipper to get to the gear. That is why they call it flipside.

Comments about Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
Nice outdoor color but not dull. The bag is compact but very roomy. I can easily fit my entry level of DSLR (Canon T2i), a 70-200 mm Canon zoom lens, a 28-75 Tamron zoom lens, and many media cards, spare batteries, and a old fashion camcorder. I still have room for a longer lens, perhaps the Canon 100-400 mm zoom (I have not tried yet)? It is also very comfortable on the back. The security of opening on the back side, rather than the front size, is definitely one of the most important factors that I purchased it.

I was looking for a pack that would hold all my gear without having to carry it and without carrying a purse. This fits the category. It has space for my 7D, 100-400, 24-105,and 15 wide angle lenses. It also can carry my cell phone, personal info, and small wallet when doing day hikes. I also like the bottle carrier on the side. We bought 2 so that we wouldn't fight over it.

I gave it a 4 stars because it only came in blue or black. I would have liked a few more color choices. Easy to use when hiking and shoting sports.

Have over 5 different bags and this one does its job great. Perfect for a day hike or vacation when you want to travel light but not so light that your best lens is back at the hotel. This bag will fit a Nikon D700 with Grip and tripod plate and/or Nikon 200mm F2.8 attached with room for a flash or two and two prime lens. Perfect bag for carryone to fly. I have a second bag to carry my Nikon 300mm F2.8 with a second person-sweet

Comments about Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
If you are a professional photographer with over 3 lenses and various accessories, you already know what kind of bag you want, and it may not be this one (look for the other Lowepro Products). But if you are an amateur with an entry-level D-SLR, 2 lenses, and a few accessories, this bag is your choice. It's large enough for persons with one lens to upgrade to 2, even three lenses. Or, if you are going to later upgrade to a high-grade long lens, this bag handles it. Top notch versatility for novice-intermediate shooters.
I haven't yet put it through it's full paces in terms of build, but the tripod holder is a awesome add (especially for compact tripods, but it holds just about anything below 24" folded). My Olympus E-510, 14-42 and 40-150 (hoods attached backwards on lens) fit snug, with my flash unit and filters. I actually do like the waist belt for making quick changes to equipment, and it has great space. Extremely lightweight feel yet durable. High recommendation. Some of the bottom openings can be difficult to access as the bag doesn't open a full 90 degrees, but it's no matter to me.

Comments about Lowepro Flipside 300 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
In this bag, I found the perfect compliment to my larger Kata HB-207. The Kata is a hiking backpack, and so is just too big for carry-on or visits to the local parks. So, I was looking for the smallest, well-built bag that will still carried my essentials, while rivaling the quality of the Kata backpacks. My essentials are a D-700 SLR, an SB-900 flash and two pretty bulky lenses -- a Sigma 24-70 EX 2.8, and Sigma 80-400 OS.
Thanks to lots of data on the BHPhoto site, I was able to carefully measure the equipment I hoped to carry and match that to the pictures and specs, and I'm happy to say everything fits great. The picture looks cool, but this pack is still cooler in person. My wife even became jealous because its such a fun little pack. And, this thing feels great on my back, and is a joy to carry, especially compared to my hiking backpack. The shoulder straps are very comfortable, and as others have commented, you don't really need the belt strap, and it is easily removed. This pack really is perfect for my smaller outings.
The back side zipper is nice for the security aspect, and the extra pouch inside is perfect for carrying a few filters, lens cleaning supplies and other small camera accessories. The flash also fits nicely along the inside. To fit my lens hoods, I carry those placed backwards against the lenses in the main compartments.
The construction is quite impressive, and my camera feels nicely cushioned inside. With the lenses I've got in there it's definitely a tight fit, but the bag handles it very well. I haven't used the tripod carrier on the back yet, but I'm happy that such a small pack has that extra feature.
I haven't seen anything else like this pack that offers the features and ends up being such a perfect size for SLR body + 2 big lenses. It surprises people when they see the outside, and then see what I have in it!
I highly recommend this if you're looking for a compact, quality backpack for your "essentials" for single day and local outings.

I usually work with a 24-70 lens and keep this pack on my back with a
70-200 lens in case I want to isolate some detail. Quality is good and size is right for my use. The 24-70 and tripod are carried separately, generally for short distances.

I needed a backpack that would hold my Nikon D3 and fit me because I am only 5'3". This Flipside 300 is perfect. It distributes the weight in a way that is very comfortable for long treks. The zipper in the back takes some adjustment, but I do think it is much safer.

This is a wonderfully sized pack and I love the fact that it unzips from the back (gives you a little more comfort when carrying it around in crowded places). Fits our 50D and several lenses (or in our case since we don't have many lenses yet it fit our phones, ipod, passports, power cords, and misc other stuff during our recent travels). It's not too big and not too small - just right. The carrying handle on top is also useful for quick pickups and when strapped around the waist I actually found myself swinging it around, opening and pulling out my camera while on vacation. Highly recommend this pack.
