This backpack is pretty big. So if you want al your gear right with you, then you got it. It has lots of pockets and the main compartment is very useful and protects the gear very well.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
This pack is awesome, I currently have the following all stored in it.
Canon 50d with attached battery grip and 18-135mm lens
A 75-300mm lens
A 50mm lens
2 Flash units
5 Batteries
and multiple filters and other small items.
I still have one whole pocket empty and the ability to put a laptop in also.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I have had the pack for 3 weeks now and I do have to say, it lives up to it's expectations. Even when the pack is loaded with a laptop, DSLR, Lenses, drives and cables. It is still extremely comfortable to have on your back. The camera compartment is nifty when you want to just grab a quick shot and put the camera back into your back pack. For the money the pack is well thought out, leaving room for expanding on equipment and a fresh pair of clothes.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I use it to carry a 15.6 inch notebook, Sony a-55 w the Sony 18-55 mm lens, and minolta 35-80mm and 80-200 mm. I am able to draw my camera fast enough. Plenty of room for cleaning stuff, wallet, binocs, charger, and other gear. The hip harness works well. I would have given it a top rating if it had a tripod strap, a rain cover and a chest harness.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I have a bad back & this backpack is the best for me. The padded straps are so comfortable. I love the great hidden spot for my laptop & the section for extras & a separate section for my body & lenses. Gonna work great for my events & help my back w/ equal balance of my items.
It travels well & it was really easy to get my laptop out when going through TSA checkpoints & not having to mess w/ inner compartments.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I travel a lot and usually end up on commuter jets out of my local airport. This backpack fits in those tiny overheads, which is exactly why I bought this back pack.
This is my second Lowepro backpack, IMO the quality can't be beat!
I would have given it 5 stars if it came with a weather cover.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I just started shooting video commercially and needed this pack for a trip to Amsterdam. In summary its a great pack for minimal gear. I took this pack with me on the plane and checked a bag with additional gear.
The pack is sufficient for simple, run and gun as long as you don't need too much. In the bottom padded part it held my 60D w/ 24-70mm lens, 50mm 1.4 lens, portable HD, H2 recorder, cables and battery charger.
In the top portion, i had an intervalometer, viewfinder, spare batteries, MacBook charger and misc. small gear. I really like the fact that the top is open instead of padded compartments.
In the bottom outside zippered pocket i had some ND filters and SD cards. In the upper zippered pocket i had a few manuals and a couple audio cables.
I also had a MacBook Pro 15" which fits great.
For travel that's all I had, but on location, i threw a few other items in the top portion like a Rode VideoMic.
Overall it's a great pack. A few nit picky things:
-I had a monopod in the outside water bottle pocket but had to tie it to a zipper for walking through the city. It would be nice if there were more straps on that side of the pack to attach a monopod or small tripod.
- I really like how the camera fits in, but I would like an elastic strap that would hold the camera in, just in case the zippers opened.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I haven't used it to the fullest yet (bought for a trip abroad), but so far I totally like it. Not only it has enough space to fit all my Photo gear (which is not a lot, to be hones - DX camera, couple lenses, SB-600 and some small stuff), but also has non-photo compartment big enough to fit a change of clothes, or few book (not huge ones thoug) and whatever else you might need on a short trip.
The only thing which is "not so great" about this backpack, is the customization of photo compartment - you can either remove the dividers, or move half an inch here or there, but it's not a "total customization", because the velcro is not everywhere, but only in designated places. It's very tiny inconvinience, compared to the overall comfort and durability of this thing. SO far I totally like it.

I use this bag EVERY DAY! Knowing that I have the camera I want with me, when I want it, has given me the opportunities to turn some of those good shots I got with my point-and-shoot, into great shots with my DSLR camera, all because the Fastpack 250 is so comfortable and well designed, that I always take it with me.

A very well made bag. I travel a lot so I need a bag that can hold up and functions well with a lot of stuff. love the way the camera goes in and out of the bag. Much easier than my last bag. Hold my 5D with a grip with no problem. Along with 3 lenses. I would definitely recommend this bag. Only two draw backs though. If you forget to zip up the computer section the computer will fall out. And the other they should include a rain cover. But that doesn't bother me.

Main purpose for the bag is when travelling. It is a bit tight for al my stuff but I do not want a bigger bag. The area for camara body is OK(very big for my camara). The stuff I put in normally. Canon rebel T1I with sigma 18-200 attached. 70-300mm lens, 430EX flash, Giotto dust blower, Battery charger, spare battery, MP3 player, 100mm macro or Manfrotto 498RC4 ball head. All this in the camara compartment.
Bag is comfortable to carry.

It's bigger than it looked on the website but it carries nicely and makes a full bag of gear feel light. I wish I had this backpack on my vacation to Vermont this fall. I used a Lowepro Slingshot 100 and the single strap gets old real quick.
The quick access hatch works really nice and can be setup for a DSLR and a large lens combo. My Nikon D50 and 18-200 lens fit with no problem.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
Tried the others, Lowepro quality beats them. I like that the bottom compartment doesnt open at the bottom--others do, and I'd be afraid of something accidentally falling out while accessing. Bottom compartment is very roomy, fits my camera along with my big 500 lens. If needed, I can put my spare camera in the top compartment, instead of other gear (like lunch). Removable and positionable padding in bottom protects everything.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 250 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I took this bag to Asia with me. Packed the bottom compartments full of camera equipment plus miscellaneous computer cables and chargers. Used the side sleeve to hold my netbook and a couple of files. (My fat extended battery makes the fit a little awkward.) Top compartment is spacious enough to hold travel books, light jacket or other accessories. Great way to carry a lot of stuff and stay organized. The only thing I wish it had is a cross chest strap. It does have a waist belt but with my short torso, it doesn't do much.
