My wife just took a trip by air to Canada w/ the 350 Fast Pack. Needed something to handle the 70 to 200 f2.8 Nikon. Note: It is x-tra long and hard to fit. Bought this product and she really liked it. She had seperated her shoulder about a month ago and it was still tender. We have a Computrekker but it was bulky and hard for her to handle. The 350 packed the above lens w/ D-70, a small 14 inch screen laptop, an extra camera body and a detached small normal zoom. Beck uses a wheel chair at airports because of prior back surgery and the Rolling Computrekker Plus would not have worked out despite the rolling wheels. We thought of the sling pack. Found out it did not hold a computer and had only one sling (right over her bad shoulder). She really enjoyed the 350. She did find out that it did not go w/ a computer packed into some of the small overhead baggage storage bins in smaller airplanes.

Lowepro makes a great camera bag. It is easy to use and easy to load and unload the camera or lenses, even on a moving boat. It is comfortable and can be worn for hours. The mesh back provides some air circulation in a warm environment.
However, the chest strap came loose only 4 days into a 2 week trip. It is not sewed on and is only a plastic clamp that loosely attaches to a roll of plastic on the shoulder strap. Were it not for this shortcoming, it would receive a higher rating.

Comments about Lowepro Fastpack 350 Backpack (Arctic Blue/Black):
I spent sometime looking for my first camera bag. I wanted a balance between carrying around my camera gear (I have one camera and lens, flash plus a number of camera related items so I don't have a lot) and being able to carry a few additional items for the walk or day out.
For the camera perspective, it has plenty of room to carry everything I have and more. The ability to remove the bag from one shoulder (the right one) and swing the bag around and access the camera worked really well for me. Access was really easy. My only critique of the bag is the way it holds the camera itself. I have a Nikon D90 which has a grip for the right hand that extends a little in front from the camera body. I suspect most DSLR's have this which means the camera would sit at an angle in the bag and move around. The camera was not held snug in place. A small point but one I think worth mentioning.
As for being able to carry "other" items, the top section held a couple of thin fleeces and swim stuff (I was in Hawaii!). It is a reasonable size for carrying either more camera equipment or other day stuff.
I don't have a laptop so I used the laptop space for taking my camera manuals with me and some newspapers and magazines I bought. A useful additional storage space if you don't carry a laptop.
The straps are wide and support the bag well. The waist straps have padding which makes for a comfortable wear.
Overall I like the choice of bag and it suits my current needs with more than enough room to grow as I add more equipment.
The price is good when compared to many of the other offerings I looked at. This was at the cheaper end but did not loose out on practicality or quality.

Despite some other reviews, the Canon 40D with the extended grip w/wifi transfer Will fit into this pack. It is a snug fit into the smaller sized fastpack, but it fits into the 350 nicely.
So far we like it a lot and several people have asked about purchasing one for themselves.
Add an easy way to mount a tripod and waterproof zippers and this pack would be one of the best ever made.

I am an amateur photographer who likes to walk in the woods, parks and historical areas.
I have used the bag several times and I find that it holds everything I need except for the tripod. After making a few adjustments, I was able to deal with the tripod issue. I do not use the laptop feature except to carry papers and notebooks. The computer slot is a nice idea, but I doubt that many people want to carry the extra weight. I was able to fit my SLR with extra lens etc in the lower pouch and a video camera, with its' own padding, in the upper pouch with plenty of room left over for lunch. My photographic walks normally last between 6 to 7 hours and the fit of the pack remained comfortable and not a burden. The swing down feature is not as easy as it looks especially when you have the waist and chest straps connected. The side area that allows only access to the camera is a great idea.

I travel each weekend around the country and I need to bring my 15" laptop with a 7D, 70-200, 2.8, extra body, cords, batteries and other things which leaves me space for a shirt and shave kit. I can now travel with one bag in and out of my jobs. Good space, made well, nice ackpack feel and cool color.

I use this bag to keep all my gear in one place. I used to have two small backpacks and had to carry both on vacation so I could have everything with me. With this bag I can carry everything together. There is enough space inside the camera compartment for my camera, flash, a couple lenses, and some accessories (filters, Pocket Wizards, etc.). The upper compartment has a good amount of space for random accessories or even a light jacket. It also contains a zipper pouch for smaller accessories. I have not tried the laptop compartment for my 17" laptop yet, but it looks like it will work sufficiently, although it will be a tight fit. All in all, this bag has a lot of space and several pouches to keep your gear organized.

Finally found the perfect back pack for my needs. I use this product everyday. I carry my laptop in the very secure laptop compartment to and from work, and I have the DSLR compartment packed with my GH1, 4 lenses, and accessories. I could fit more. The top compartment above the DSLR pocket is also very roomy and great for carrying whatever else I might be hauling around. But, despite being able to carry all this stuff, it's not too bulky and pretty slick looking.
I can now have one of my cameras with me wherever I go. This will also be ideal for travel. Love the bag. Get one.

This is the first backpack I have owned and I would buy Lowepro again.I wore it on a recent trip to Texas and Arizona and my back felt GREAT. I have a bad back from the work I do, so I was worried about wearing this backpack for any length of time. But it felt like I was not wearing anything on me back.

We just got this in the mail yesterday and it is perfect! My husband is constantly forgetting his regular camera case places. This one he will be able to keep on his back when he is shooting so that he won't leave the bag anywhere. It is also very spacious and holds all of his camera equipment and a laptop so that he can drop the pics from the camera right on to the laptop to show the families that he is taking pictures of a preview of the pics right there at the photo shoot spot. Well worth the money and good quality material!

I'm in IT and I carry my laptop everywhere. I also like to take my camera with me too. I hated taking two bags so I got this one. Tried a few others, quality and size were a problem. This one's perfect. Fits my 7D with grip, a few lenses, flash, my 15.4 inch laptop, my lunch, pens and IT stuff and more. And, it was $50-60 cheaper than buying it locally.
Pros: It's not heavy or uncomfortable, Lowepro quality, I love the color, fits everything I need and more, straps everywhere.
Cons: Not many, but if I had to pick some, I wish it came with more dividers, wish there were a few more goodies that came with it like some of the other expensive Lowepro bags.

I use this bag to shoot sports. It's really helpful having the storage space for a laptop-it makes it easy for me to upload pics right away and the bag is well padded so I don't have to worry about anything. The waist belt really helps me because all of that gear is really heavy on your back and it takes some of the tension away. The clips on the bottom do make it a little bit slower to open up but other than that it's a great bag and I can't wait to use it out hiking this summer!
