The StompIO from IK Multimedia is an advanced guitar/bass FX system that provides full control over all "Powered by AmpliTube" software/plug-ins via a hardware floor controller. The controller also acts as the audio interface for a Mac or Windows based desktop or laptop computer, allowing the system to be equally at home in the studio, as it is on the road.
The five included software packages can be controlled without the need to look at a computer screen or touch a mouse, thanks to large back-lit LCD display and ten foot-switches. The hundred and fifty different highly-sought-after modern and vintage gear models provide great starting points for crafting custom tones, which can be enabled on two separate "rigs."
The audio interface sports high-end analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog stages, with 110dBA signal-to-noise ratio on the balanced outputs. Sample rate support includes both 44.1 and 48kHz, with 24-bit resolution. The unit also provides a Class A discrete preamp input and S/PDIF digital output. A separate headphone output is available on the controller.

Truely amazing product! I have finally found satisfaction, of the sort which comes from a real nice tube amp, through headphones!!! Of course the StompIO is much more than just a headphone amp. The unit came with lots of bundled software, in addition to the core suite of Amplitube 2, Jimi Hendrix, Metal and Ampeg SVX. Mine also had a full version of Tracktion and various other plug-ins, so I can also start a recording hobby now that I sound so good.
I highly recommend you check it out for yourself. Hey, you can even run a trial version of the software, and then you will probably want to get the StompIO to get the whole package.
