This was a gift for one of my kids, so I don't use it myself. I did, however, participate in setting it up and figuring out how it works which really was not too difficult. The product is very straight forward, easy to set-up and operate. After a few minutes we had it ready for use and were able to program the preset radio stations using the remote.
The sound quality is really top notch and is close to the quality produced by other much more expensive name brands. The built in FM radio is an improvement over the FM capability of the Sansa.
What else can I say - the iM413 is reasonably priced, produces great sound, is small/compact and easy to use. It delivers big time audio sound to a room - years ago, I needed to buy a large receiver, turn table and speakers to do the same. Now it is all packaged into a small footprint. I highly recommend this product to owners of compatible MP3 players.
I have listed similar products that we have/own/use in our household.

I use this at home, and it's not to have to use my computer for my Rhapsody subscription. It's definitely got some bass to it, which I love. It's not as clear of a sound that I would've expected. If I could combine my computer's treble with this system's bass, it'd be pretty close to perfect.

Comments about Altec Lansing iM413 inMotion Portable Audio System for Sansa:
I use it to both charge the Sansa Fuze and to play music at home. It is very nicely built and attractive with very good sound quality. I'm thrilled to find one made just for the Sansa units. I like my Fuze so much better than my old iPod. Only recommended improvement, might be another type of antenna (even though I don't use it)- the wire dosn't look like it would be very practical for a portable radio...

Comments about Altec Lansing iM413 inMotion Portable Audio System for Sansa:
These portable speakers work perfectly with the Sansa Fuse.
Pros: Great sound, charges Sansa while docked, comes with remote, reasonable price, portable and lightweight, uses standard AA batteries (or plugs in).
Room for Improvement: Could use a handle for smoother carrying and I wish it had a clock. From the photo, it looks like it has a clock, but that's the FM radio station. It also will display sound level...but no time.
I would definitely recommend this to any Sansa owner. Apparently older Sansa players need firmware upgrade, but my Sansa Fuse (purchased 11/08) worked right out of the box. It does come with 2 adapters for other Sansas, but does not need an adapter for the Fuse.

Listening quality -- equal to the price-- not bad for the cost. Handsome unit which matches the color of my sansa player. The remote is a nice feature.

The price was the best we found anywhere - web, bricks-and-mortar, catalog. The sound quality coming out of this thing blows me away!

I use the product for hearing mp3 music.
The sound is great.
Unfortunatly Ican't use the radio because I live outside the us and can't tune the stations I want.
sometimes I'm having a bit of problem that the music stops and I hear a sound like a siren I just move a song ff and it is ok.

It's perfect for close quaters, like sitting at a desk when you're working. But I haven't tried it in a big room, as if you were trying to use it as a boom box. Glad there's a non-Ipod docking station. Limited remote control functionality - you can't control artist or album selection, etc - you can only go back or forward a song in the same folder.

So easy about the house...not trouble by earphones slipping out, etc.
The thing thats not so great...I was under the impression that I was getting a 'telescopic' antenna. That whole wire thing spoils any real attempt to use it for fm listening. I got it all into a small sandwich baggie and taped it to the back of unit(so it isn't noticed)...forever dulling any effort by me to use the fm.

this speaker system sounds quite good. It is small and convenient, but the operating instructions are very vague. Using the included remote to operate the Sansa hasn't been very successful.

Comments about Altec Lansing iM413 inMotion Portable Audio System for Sansa:
I bought the iM413 for my wife and she liked it so well we purchased one for our daughter.
The unit produces excellent sound. Though not what I would call a "boom-box", it produces enough volume to use on the patio and more than enough for for inside use.
My only real criticism is the instructions are much too abbreviated. One has to spend some time figuring out how to use the remote, e.g., how to get to an album rather than just flip through individual songs. The remote seems to do everything you need it to do, but the buttons have other functions than those they are labeled to perform and the instructions do not address this fact.

Just enough Bells and Whistles to make it work well. Great sound for a portable speaker. Glad this one is for MP3 players instead of Ipod. Only wish they found a way to integrate the antenae wire inside the unit, and would like it to fold flat. other than that nice product.

This works great with the Fuze. the sound is outstanding. I use this outside the portability is great, batteries or plug it in.The only drawback is the wire antenne, it works good but there is no place to store it to keep it out of the way when not in use.Would recomend as it delivers good sound.

Remarkable sound for such a small unit! It is very attractive, too. The remote can't operate your Sansa's menus. It can only advance tracks within a folder, but it is a nice extra. The unit is supposedly "portable" (because of the d.c. option) but it has no handle, and it would probably get messed up at the beach. I'm not sure if a car (12v) adapter is available. One was not included.

It's great for listening to music while I do dishes or make dinner as well as just sitting around outside. Nice to be able to listen to my music and share it with others.
Only complaint I have is the Sansa seems to lock up between uses once in a while. Turning it off and on fixes it up. Probably just a firmware issue.

After looking for over 1 yr. for something I could be happy with I almost gave up. When I saw this Altec unit I immediately knew I had to get it. After 1 Month I am still very satisified with the quality sound and it's features. AC/Battery power, recharching the MP3 while playing music, listening to the radio, or not. It also very nice looking.

I bought this for my 8 gig Sandisk player. This is more of a desk radio with plug in features. What! No clock? I was hoping to use it as a portable but it's not carry friendly. It does very well for it's intended purpose. Read on and I will explain the cons. The sound it delivers is a bit on the high side. It might actually sound a little better if the Bass Boost really worked. I don't hear much of a difference when it's activated. Not much effect with the Surround activated either. I don't like the wire antenna but it does pick up stations quite well. Reception is a plus. Problem is: What do you do with the wire if you pick it up and carry it around? This would make a great portable if it had a handle to carry it with a clock and a telescoping antenna. I love the remote control. I'm not sorry I bought it but I hope they improve upon it. Just a little tweeking and add the portable features listed above and I'll buy the next model too and I'll just keep this one on my desk.

Looks great, sounds great, easy to use, and a handy remote. All at a nice price. The only issue I have is it would be nice if it had a telscoping antenna instead of the wire.
