The Wi5 Wireless Instrument System is a complete wireless clip-on microphone system intended to reproduce brass and woodwind instruments with pristine results. The system includes a UHF receiver and Wi5 instrument transmitter with a permanently attached cardioid microphone. Sixteen user selectable UHF channels are at the user's disposal for flexible wireless operation just about anywhere.
UHF reception minimizes drop-out and increases range. The microphone itself is designed to provide maximum gain before feedback and features the headroom necessary to capture horns at close range, without noise and distortion.
The universal clamp provides flexible mounting on any brass or woodwind instrument and the capsule rests on the Iso-ring suspension mount which eliminates handling noise. Overall, the Wi5 is a flexible, belt-pack free wireless system for horn players in live sound reinforcement and recording applications alike.

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
Sorry for the polysyllabic flourish, but I wanted to catch your attention. What an absolute treat to get away from the head-down-into-the-mic gigging mode. I have great stage mics - from the EV-20 to the AKG 414 to the Neumann TLM 103 (and they are wonderful) - but playing into them at various angles and distances to capture the nuances of my sax-playing was also inviting me to stay fixed within visual range of my charts and the chord changes which more or less "locked" me into a habit that is not exactly conducive to the best sort of improvising. Once I've set this clip-on up exactly as I want it to sound, the Wi-5, besides giving me more of that sonic uniformity that just makes it FEEL good to play a solo, has released me from the crutch of "music stand dependency"; the pressure is on to move around and invent as I do so - to LISTEN more to what's happening with the rhythm section. But that of course is what I've really needed. Modesty aside, I'm becoming a better player. This is a spectacular product - so easy to use, so much fun to use. The "voice" of my Mark VI alto is completely and perfectly rendered by this compact gem of a microphone.

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
Incredible clear sound and most of all confortable, cause there's no wires and doesn't weight. i would prefer that the case where it comes was a rigid one, being such an expensive mic and the fact that i'm goin to travel to show and performances everywhere with it, that would be the fith star. the mic is 5 stars rating, but the case not. highly recomend this mic

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
Primarily live performance use. This Mic provides truely NATURAL sounding reproduction and the added benefit of being wireless allows the professional muscian the freedom to move about without signal loss that detracts from the performance. Hook up the receiver, mount the Mic on the instrument, and play. What is easier than that? If your sound guy can't make this Mic sound right, get a new sound guy!

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
I am a professional musician and have been for the past 50 years.I currently play three nights a week in a local club. The AMT Wi5 is the best overall wireless I've ever used.I use it on alto and tenor sax and switch from one to the other with no problem.I am very particular about my horns and the rubber clip has never put a scratch on either bell. The sound is excellent,if not better than the SM 57 I use on the stand. As far as range , the signal is strong passed the point where the delay in sound becomes a factor.I have never had a problem with feedback proximity in monitors or main speakers. I would feel comfortable using the AMT Wi5 in the best venues in the world.

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
So i bought this Wireless mic setup about a month ago, and I've held off on writing about it until I put in some quality time with it and I have to say I'm nothing but pleased with it. The construction and Materials seem to be great and the soft carry case it comes with are nice for gigging musicians like myself. I'm very pleased with the sound I get from the Mic and I'm constantly impressed with how directional the mic is. A fact that is super handy in a wireless horn system because I can move anywhere on stage (even directly on top of monitors). If you run the sound or just want to get out in the crowd with your horn no worries with this setup. You can stand right in front of a main and still no feedback. Over all I couldn't be happier with this mic.

3. being wireless, not entangling in wires, is great
this is well worth the price!

Comments about AMT Wi5 - 16-Channel Wireless Clip-On Instrument System:
This wireless mic really is wireless! Since it has a micro-transmitter on the mic, there is no belt pack. Having 16 channels is convenient if you ever play with other musicians who have wireless mics. I would never buy one that only came in one channel. The mic has a nice natural tone to it. I'm very happy with this system. There isn't anything I dislike about it.
