Tiffen Digital HT (High Transmission) Haze 86 Glass Filter - Tiffen, an industry leader in the design and production of high-end filters, has produced a series of filters which contain the strength of a titanium coating along with high-end optical glass.
Using their patented ColorCore technology, this filter represents the highest scratch-resistant durability available. There is no need to worry about cleaning this filter since the coating protects the surface thereby maintaining the optical quality of the glass.
The Titanium coating consistently reflects less than 1% of the imaging light hitting the front surface of the filter while transmitting nearly 99%.
The Haze 86 filter is helpful when photographing mountain and marine scenes, where increased haze threatens to make your photographs indistinct in color and clarity.

ColorCore Technology

This filter was recomended to me by B&H Associates after a discussion of my shooting style. It is a bit more costly than the sets which are offered but is the primary filter I will use and has Titanium Multi-coated glass, a non reflective ring, a durable surface (KEY WORD DUABLE), and a ten year warranty. I can head for the great outdoors in varied weather conditions with more confidence that my awesome lens is protected. Although my Prof scoffed at the price I know how tough I am on equiptment.

Save my lens after a windy day at the beach. It was heavly spotted but the front glass of the lens was clean and untouched not to mention the UV protection and the low reflective low profile metal ring.

Not much you can really say about filters, either they work or they don't. This one works well. It doesn't degrade image quality, and the coating seems to be very good, possibly a little bit easier to clean than the B+W MRC filters, but I think it's a negligible difference, if any. One of the motivating factors in buying this filter over a B+W, which I also own and love, was the fact that it's made in the USA. The little pouch it comes with is also very nice. One other thing - The lens cap for my Nikon 24-70 ƒ/2.8 fits perfectly on the front threads of this filter.
