Comments about BenQ W500 LCD Home-Theater Projector:
Good 720p projector.
- I was able to see movies on 3m x 1.7m screen with full darkening.
- Too noisy for home theatre. Useless lens cap.

Comments about BenQ W500 LCD Home-Theater Projector:
Great entry level 720p projector. Takes a 1080p/60 signal from Bluray players. Colors are great once calibrated.
I was looking for a good projector below $1000 and this fit the bill. The replacement bulb is also cheap compared to similar projectors.
You will need a high gain gray screen though for best results.

Comments about BenQ W500 LCD Home-Theater Projector:
The projector is great -- well, while it was working.
Mine stopped working after only about 4 work hours: all indicators turned red and never turned back green (painting them green doesn't solve the problem either).
BenQ technical help turned out to be not so technical: Just ship it back, they said.
Aside from that, it's a little bulky and noisy, and the lens cap is pretty useless.
Nonetheless, I'll probably re-order a new one since I haven't seen other comparable projectors priced as low.

Comments about BenQ W500 LCD Home-Theater Projector:
I use this primarily for movie watching so far, both DVDs from a PC and Blurays from a PS3 and it works great. It was easy to set up, and the lens adjustment system is excellent. Picture quality and brightness

I'm really happy that we got it, it was super simple to hook up and use.
