Trust me when you buy an expensive and valuable item like a camera you will need the extra protection. All Camera's generally come with a one year warranty but most camera's usage accidents or malfunctions occur the day after your warranty ends. In my case this has happened to me and the cost to repair my equipment was half the price of the high end product. Save yourself the hassle and invest and protect your buy. The biggest thing I can tell you is to register for your warranty within 10 days of your purchase to validate it. I have missed that part before.

Comments about 2-Year Extended Service Coverage (ESC) for the Nikon D300 and D300s Digital SLR Cameras:
I bought a "recertified" D200 last year. These cameras are sold with a 90 day warranty from Nikon. Unfortunately, my D200 suffered from some major problems, requiring two extensive returns to Melville. While the work was done under warranty, I was concerned if I had future problems that the expense would be great. I also had difficulties with a D70 I purchased new, also requiring two trips back to Melville. So I decided when I ordered a new D300 that I would take advantage of this relatively inexpensive extended coverage just in case my luck held true to form. My new D300 is covered for two full years after the one year new camera warranty expires. As I tend to keep cameras for quite a while, I find this reassuring.

Comments about 2-Year Extended Service Coverage (ESC) for the Nikon D300 and D300s Digital SLR Cameras:
Most people advise not to buy an extended warranty. however with the expense of the camera, and the repairs i had to make with my D70 just after the original warranty expired. Its a device that gets knocked around and I think its a good idea to extend the warranty.

I purchased a 2 yr. Extended Service Coverage (ESC) for Nikon D300 Digital Camera. With the cost of the investment, I think it is well worth the additional cost. The price was reasonable as well almost $60.00 cheaper then other places I reviewed.
