This drive was put in a Patriot Box Office for use with our TV. It has been working well and racked up over 200 hours of use so far!

Great replacement (EXACT) for one that died in a Gateway (which is the ONLY WD that has EVER failed on me in the last 20 years!)

I went with WD after two successive failures, first with Seagate 160 and then Hitachi 320. Drive is running quiet and is stable so far.

Decided to upgrade my hard drive in my PS3 from its current factory 80gb and i must admit it was the perfect choice, very easy to install and now my gaming system has plenty of room for video, pictures, games etc, no worries about this baby filling up!

I used to have to back up every thing i owned onto a external. Now I don't have to because the space given to me through this drive allows me to keep all my photos and music on my laptop without having to sacrifice some to my external like I used to.

Comments about Western Digital 320GB Scorpio Blue 2.5" SATA Notebook Hard Drive:
I bought a couple of these as replacement drives for 2 Apple Macbook Pros. I was initially worried about the heat and noise that could come from high capacity high performance notebook drives, but was pleasantly surprised that it was no warmer than the original system drive that shipped (Seagate 120GB). Now, applications launch quicker; e.g. MS Word takes 5 bounces of the dock rather than 15 or more (yes I know, not a good test, but overall load time till the window appears is reduced), and the system is overall more snappy.
No real downside. Really glad I installed this.

Comments about Western Digital 320GB Scorpio Blue 2.5" SATA Notebook Hard Drive:
I wanted to replace my WD 160g sata1 drive in my laptop and I decided on the WD320g.Acer said my laptop couldn't support sata3 or anything above 160g, [...] Fortunately, Acer was wrong and all I had to do was slip the drive in and reinstall my OS.It is faster than my older 160G drive. That was a nice surprise. It does run a little hotter than the older 160g drive I had. Not a lot, but I can feel a little bit more heat. Also, it's just a little louder than my older 160g drive. Not a lot. Just a little, but it is noticable in a quiet room. The two negatives (heat and noise) are minor. Not enough to be dissatisfied with the drive. The documentation is nearly non-existant. It comprised one half a sheet of paper that said in four languages to not install the drive yourself. That the software & instructions normally included in internal drive kits were not included and that I should pay a professional to install the drive.A bit of a slap in the face considering I paid extra for a retail drive instead of OEM, but I'm not counting it as a negative because I can understand that the average laptop user might have a few issues changing a drive in a laptop and reinstalling Windows (esp. considering most people have no way to reinstall their OS on a new drive!).So I have a bit of a bad feeling towards Western Digital the company, but I'm satisfied with the drive itself.
