The Furman M-8x2 Merit Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner is a low-cost AC power solution for rack mount systems. Install an M-8x in the top slot of your rack, and the eight switched AC outlets in the rear panel will power up and protect all your equipment, up to a 15A load.
M-Series conditioners protect your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors. The fast-acting suppression circuit quickly responds, and clamps transient voltages to safe levels. An RFI/EMI interference filter works to prevent noise from fluorescent lights, certain dimmers, radio transmitters, and similar sources of "electronic pollution" from contaminating the AC line, and from there leaking into sensitive audio, video, or computer circuits.

Comments about Furman M-8x Merit Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner & Surge Protector:
Great unit. Wasn't too expensive, does what its supposed to and works great. I would have liked an extra outlet on the front, but definitely not a deal breaker. Would recommend.

Comments about Furman M-8x Merit Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner & Surge Protector:
Although I have not had a surge come along to test it's protection, I am assuming that it will, in the least, provide a relief for anything connected to it. The best thing about this one is that it is so light that it does not add anywhere near the weight that my old conditioner did, the monster pro2500. Not as spiffy, but arguably little difference in most situations.

I use this in a home studio with my mixer and monitors. It worked well at eliminating interference.

Comments about Furman M-8x Merit Series 8 Outlet Power Conditioner & Surge Protector:
As a basic need, this model is the cheapest power conditioner that I am willing to subject my equipment to. It adaquately satisfies that need, which is to provide 8 outlets of relatively conditioned power to a rack and provide a means of organization.
The outlet on the front of the unit is crucial for me. It makes plugging in external hard drives, laptops, or even phone chargers an easy endeavor. However, I do wish that the power button lit up like the older lines used to though.
Overall, it does what it's supposed to do with reliability and simplicity.
