Comments about Astatic 40118 Portable Desk Base for Gooseneck Microphones:
Our conference center purchased 24 of these bases for use in our meeting spaces; events are set up, take place and then are taken down. The XLR cabling connections break frequently inside the plugs, causing mic outages and popping noise through the sound system. While suitable for permanent mounting, the thin wiring inside the cables does not stand up to even medium-frequency usage.

Comments about Astatic 40118 Portable Desk Base for Gooseneck Microphones:
I'm a minister at a church. We have a powered mixer we were using with 2 wireless mics for sound reinforcement. I wanted to ditch the wireless mics for regular mics at the pulpit, altar, etc. I ordered three of these bases, along with 3 Audio Technica mics (PRO-49Q Quick-mount Gooseneck Microphone) and 3 - 50' cables - and they really work great. I found we can even use the wireless mics at the same time if needed. The bases are nice and heavy considering they are quite small and fully adjustable with the dip switches on the bottom. I'm a bit of a customizer and can't think of anything I would change with these. Or the mics for that matter they work great too.
