The Dot-Line Corp. White Balance Lens Cap is great for use with digital cameras. Just place the White Balance Lens Cap, point your camera at a subject area, and the incoming light is diffused to create an average white balance for a particular scene. (Check camera manufacturer's manual for setting white balance.). The White Balance Lens Cap easily slips on to the front of any appropriately sized lens, or a lens with a protective filter. Even if your lens has a bayonet mount on the outside, simply use the adapter provided. The lens cap comes with a handy loop to connect it to a camera strap or strap lug so you don't lose the cap.

I recently bought a Dot Line 77mm white balance cap. It really works. Just set your exposure, pop on the cap, take a picture and import it into your custom white balance program on your camera. If your using flash just make sure you pop the flash when you have the cap on. The only problem is that the screw on ring that the cap is supposed to fit on has poor threads and it can get stuck on your filter. Just throw it away. The white balance cap fits snugly enough on the lens anyway. Sure beats 80 bucks for an Expodisc.

Comments about Dot Line 77mm White Balance Lens Cap:
I use this cap for setting my custom white balance in the field when I don't want to subject my x-rite color checker to harsh conditions. this cap works fine on all of my lenses up to 77 mm. I simply hold it over the lens, aim it towards the light source and take my shot, then it is an easy step to set the in camera custom white balance. the results check fine against my color checker during the calibrations that I have preformed with both products, and for the price I trust the results for most of my field photography needs.

Comments about Dot Line 77mm White Balance Lens Cap:
So far I've had fairly good success with this white balance cap. It fits perfectly, nice and snug on my 70mm lens and I have seen a marked improvement in my color output after using the cap to set custom white balance. I am very pleased with the performance and the best part it was very reasonably priced. The cord keeps it on my camera for quick use, which I also find very convenient.

It is very simple and easy to use, just pop it on your lens snap a picture and ta-da custom white balance. It's cheap, light weight, easy to store. Only downfall doesn't come with a little pouch to store it in.

I guess you can say this works pretty well. Much less expensive than some other options, build quality suffers some. Overall, it's cheap and it works. Not as "sleek" as an Expodisc, but you're also saving about $70 getting this one!

This is an easy way to white balance. It does the exact same thing as the expodic without the extra expense. Simple and easy hooks right onto my lens. Also doubles as a lens protectant.

Comments about Dot Line 77mm White Balance Lens Cap:
Nothing wrong with this at all. I ran tests with this against the ExpoDisc. Results were essentially identical (and correct). These are both incident light readers, but you don't have to stand at the subject's location (helpful when you're visiting the Grand Canyon, et. al.), just screw it into your camera lens and point it toward the sky (away from the sun), and bingo!
It's lightweight, takes up very little space in your bag, and, best of all, you can buy nearly a dozen of them for the price of ONE ExpoDisc. Enjoy!

Comments about Dot Line 77mm White Balance Lens Cap:
Well you could spend a thousand or more for that super crisp lens, but if your white balance is off.....(assuming you're shooting color)...Yes, you can fool around with it in PS or LR but why even mess with it. Get it right in the camera. For [$], this rascal is worth every penny. I bought a spare, and for other lens sizes as well. If it's not as durable as a $200 model, I can buy 21 more and still be ahead. This is a "must have" item for your camera.

Comments about Dot Line 77mm White Balance Lens Cap:
A very inexpensive way to get balanced color. Re-seting white balance is awkward in fast action situations so it doesn't get used a lot. But, when shooting under a green canopy or simmilar, it saves a lot of time on the computer. easily fits in a pocket so I can always have it with me and if I loose it I'm not out much.
