Comments about Smith-Victor SV-950K 12 VDC On-Camera Light Kit:
We purchased this light kit to supplement our small video lights. With the extra burn time and brighter lamp our use of this type of light is greatly extended.
I would really like a little brighter lamp and longer burn time.

Comments about Smith-Victor SV-950K 12 VDC On-Camera Light Kit:
i am a portrait/wedding photographer and have been using this light (a borrowed version) for a couple years now. finally got my own! this is a great light for dramatic lighting (something a flash cannot do!). the only drawback is the weight of the battery...but this should not be a hinderance. very useful for wedding photographers!

Comments about Smith-Victor SV-950K 12 VDC On-Camera Light Kit:
Love the light. Battery lasts a long time, have not run out of power during operation. Built-in filters are great.
The only problem I have is that there are gaps between the filters that, when bouncing the light, leave little bands of light on subjects. One might need some black foil to fix. Other than that, it is a great value!

Comments about Smith-Victor SV-950K 12 VDC On-Camera Light Kit:
While this a very good on-camera-light, it is not to be used in rugged situations. The thin and somewhat flimsy construction means that it needs to be treated with kid-gloves. The filters do work nicely and do rotate -out of the way- as opposed to rotating to shift the angle of the dichroic and or diffusion. The same is true for the barn doors you cannot rotate them to create a diagonal streak of light. Bottom line is, if you are looking for a nice reasonably priced on-camera-light buy it, if you are looking for a truely pro-on-camera-light you're going to have to dig deeper into your pocket.

Comments about Smith-Victor SV-950K 12 VDC On-Camera Light Kit:
I use this to do interviews. 50 Watt bulb may be too bright in some situations and uncomfortable for subject. 100 Watt bulb would be too strong for close up however great for night or group shots.
