Panasonic SDR-S10P1 SD Camcorder
The Panasonic SDR-S10P1 Camcorder records directly to SD/SDHC cards (sold separately) for fast uploading to the Internet. Put all your best video clips on YouTube or email them to share with your family and friends. Water resistance makes it possible to record even in wet conditions, especially when you're capturing outdoor sporting events. And the shock proof feature protects your camcorder from a fall of up to four feet due to its reinforced outer casing and an internal resin chassis that guards the lens and main circuit board.
Optional manual functions give you creative control when you want it. When you don't simply go back to the auto functions and let the camcorder do the work. Panasonic also gave the SDR-S10P1 a 1/6" CCD image sensor for capturing excellent video, a 2.7" widescreen LCD that rotates a 180°, 10x optical zoom, electronic stabilization and a host of other features that help make recording and sharing your memories easier than ever.
- Widescreen LCD Monitor
- The 2.7" color widescreen LCD monitor flips out 90° and turns 90° forward and backward (180°) when opened, giving you the best possible angle of view while you're filming or on playback. Color and brightness settings on the LCD screen increase viewing quality.
- Water Resistant
- Film in the rain, snow or otherwise wet situations thanks to this camcorder's water resistance. The SDR-S10P1 complies with the IPX4 specifications of the IEC 60529 (IP Code).
- 10x Optical Zoom
- The 10x optical zoom gives you clear, clean close-ups each and every time you record. Whether you want to get a better view of your child at bat or capture a breath-taking view optical zoom will give you a reliable image.
- Shock Proof
- Panasonic designed this camcorder to withstand a drop of up to four feet. The outer camcorder casing has been reinforced to take a fall while on the inside an intermediate resin chassis protects the lens and main circuit board.
- Recording Media
- Both video and still images can be recorded to SD/SDHC memory cards using this camcorder, making it easier and faster for you to share all of your memories. Up to 2GB SD memory cards and up to 4GB SDHC cards (sold separately) are supported by the SDR-S10P1.
- 1/6" CCD Image Sensor
- The 1/6" CCD sensor provides you with clear, accurate images for both video and stills.
- Image Stabilization
- Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) works to keep your image steady, protecting your videos from the age-old problem of hand shake. Whether you're on a boat or recording at a football game your video will come out steady and clean on play back.
- Soft Skin Function
- The soft skin function finds skin tones in your image and reduces the wrinkles and lines on your subjects by softening the focus in those areas. This feature will also soften similar tones in the background, however your mother will love you when you show your video of her on your huge flat-screen T.V. to your entire family.
- Manual Features
- Aside from the various auto-functions featured standard on today's MPEG-2 camcorders, the SDR-S10P1 offers an array of optional manual functions for when you want more control over your filming. Manual focus, shutter speed, aperture control and white balance are all available when you want to customize your shot.
- MagicPix
- MagicPix mode takes your camcorder's 12 lux capacity for shooting in low-light and amps it up to 2 lux allowing you to record in dark situations with greater accuracy and color. This setting slows down shutter speed requiring you to use a tripod to avoid coming away with a blurry image.
- Power Save
- Panasonic has you covered. Power Save mode automatically turns your SDR-S10P1 off after five minutes of inactivity unless it's connected to your AC adapter, VCR or PC, saving precious battery life. When you don't want this function to kick in simply turn the Power Save mode off and you control the power supply.
- Zoom Microphone
- Much like the zoom function for your video, the zoom microphone enables you to get a close-up audio recording. When you zoom in on your subject, the accompanying audio will be clear and amplified as well.
- Help Mode
- When operation icons are shown on your LCD monitor the Help mode explains what you're seeing and what it does.
- Still Image Recording
- The still image recording capability on the SDR-S10P1 give you 640 x 480 resolution images. SD cards can hold up to 2GB of stills while SDHC cards can store up to 4GB.
- PictBridge
- The SDR-S10P1 is compatible with PictBridge printers for fast, effortless printing of your still images. Simply use the included USB cable to print off your images directly from the camcorder without having to edit them in your PC first.
- Self-Timer Recording
- Remember all the vacation photos you have of everyone on the trip but you? The 10 second self-timer gives you time to get in the picture when you're shooting stills for proof that you were actually there.
- AE Scene Modes
- Five different scene modes offer options for recording in these specific situations: sports, portrait, low-light, spotlight and surf and snow mode. Let the camcorder figure out the correct exposure so you can focus on the moment.
- Supplied Software
- MotionSD Studio 1.2E software comes with the SDR-S10P1 for editing and acquiring your still images from the camcorder.
- Compatible Operating System
- The SDR-S10P1 is compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000, XP Home Edition and XP Professional.
