Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
This camera's petite size is a nice feature- no more lugging around a huge camera bag. It could literally fit in your front shirt pocket.
Video quality is pretty good. About what you'd expect from a $200ish camera. The XP (high quality) setting improves the quality a bit. But for web apps, it's perfect. It has a lot of manual settings that I haven't had time to get into yet that might improve things. But, over all, I'm very happy with this camera. It's nice that it also takes still pics too. Pretty decent quality, for websites, or email.
Not too fond of the software that came with the camera- it's not very user friendly. But, it does work.
Overall, I would probably buy this camera again.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
I recorded Christmas, using the highest quality setting and found the quality on play back to be ok. Doesn't seem as good as the Sony DVD recorder it replaced (broken). Truly pocketable size is a big plus. Took two hours to burn my first DVD, should be much easier now that I figured it out. Generally recommend this product and B&H price was best by far.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
I am really impressed by this little camera. I like the quality of the Panasonic Camcorders in general and was really happy that the quality of this camera and the video it takes. I have it mounted to the front of my motorcycle after getting frustrated by the various helmet camcorders video quality that are out there. This camera is perfect and it totally cuts out the wind noise and is small enough to fit just about anywhere. I get 75 to 80 minutes of straight recording time on the battery, STRAIGHT - meaning I just leave the thing on.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
Have been taking film and digital stills for years, this is my first venture into camcorders. Love the fact that it is compact, has an easy user interface, and has few mechanical parts to wear or go out of alignment. First time out of the chute I made a viewable film, edited it a bit, and put it on a DVD for sharing - no sweat. A good starter camera, it has whetted my appetite for more. When I eventually upgrade to the next level, this camera is still a keeper. I can drop it my shirt pocket for ready access and it just works with no fuss.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
Viewing screen is nice, compact and light.
White balance in high or low light requires manual adjustment or setting to preset.
recording format is MOD - from what I've read this is a JVC Audio codec with MPEG-2 imbedded. One needs to get a translator to process video in Vegas 8. Software that comes with camera is basic but adquate for family videos and simple editing. Make sure you get speed 6 memory cards otherwise video will have "frozen" footage. The memory card matrix in the owners manual clearly states this.
Good camera but not enough horsepower for advanced applications.

Comments about Panasonic SDR-S7 SD Camcorder (Black):
I love the size of this camcorder, it is smaller than my hand (and I have small hands). I wanted something that I was lightweight and small enough that I would not feel reluctant to carry it with me often. Also my requirements were that it would provide decent picture quality at the lower-end of the price specturm. This camcorder fits the bill perfectly.
