I use Color Efex in more ways than I had thought I would. I've found that even the filters I thought I would have no use for can give stunning results with some photos. I'm now in the habit of running a photograph through all 52 filters just to see if there's a hidden magic in any one of them. The user control is incredibly extensive. The worst thing about this product is that it can be addictive - I find myself running photos through Color Efex that look just fine the way they are. Some of my photos that I had given up on have now become works of art. I run Color Efex as a plug-in editor to Aperture 2.1. The GUI is simple and elegant, and it works seamlessly with Aperture.

First, let me say I do like this product but the install was anything but routine and once it was installed into Photoshop CS5 I was no longer able to copy and paste into any graphic program more than once until I closed Photoshop and re-opened it. Not good. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program so many times my system crashed and thankfully I have a raid array and was able to boot from a secondary plex until I could repair the problem. And the problem was with this software. After much searching I found I wasn't the only one with this problem and there is a fix. I had to create a config file and place it in the Nix directory for everything to work again. Once I did that all was well with the world. I love the effects, but be forewarned that if you aren't computer savvy this one may bite you big time.

I just installed Color Eflex Pro 3, I really can't give a knowledgeable report yet. It installed easily as plug-ins for both CS5 and LR3. It uses the same U Point Technology as my Viveza 2. It opens in CS5 and LR with no problems. After I become accustomed with the software I will upgrade to version 4 and would recommend the full version with 52 filters.

Color Efex Pro is just plain fun. I still have lots to learn in post processing, but using this software is as simple as clicking on the filter you want and moving the sliders to fine tune it for your image. It will not make a bad image great, but will make a good image better. Easy to use, and could use it on every image I have, either subtly or dramatically.

This software offers a large number of filters each with adjustments or even "sub filter" selections within each filter or effect to offer you a large number of choices to add something different or unique to your photos in the digital darkroom.
You can use multiple effects on a single photo with varying levels depending on what you are looking to do.
I am still learning it, but it is fairly easy to use.

I use this product to complete the processing of my photos. It is very easy to use and the results are fantastic. I have two beefs however: after each filter is used, the software take you back to the menu - many extra clicks if you use more than one filter, which I do., and in order to get the "tonal contrast" filter, which I use all the time, you have to buy the complete program (more money). I would highly recommend this software. There si one other problem which may be this software of Photoshop CS5 - photoshop crashes frequently when I use this and Viveza 2.

Very intuitive and easy to use. I mostly use it with PS5 for my Portrait and Design work. It's nice to have available in LR3 but when working with big sessions, everything seems to get bogged down (This is more LR3 than Efex Pro 3.0). Color Efex Pro 3.0 offers plenty of presets with the ability to modify and fine tune individual parameters and set control points so that you can dial up your images just how you like with only a few mouse clicks. Opens up a world of enhancements and creativity for your photos and imaging.

I pretty much cant stand digital. I still think it looks like dog doo compared to film but when you cant afford to burn through rolls of film your stuck with it. Nik is my savior. It adds such depth and realism to my otherwise flat looking photos, allowing me to be subtle to extreme, saving me 100 shortcuts with each click. You have complete control over each adjustment and yet its been so easy to use. It was referred to me by a pro, although Im an amateur. Anyone that shoots digital and edits in Photoshop or Aperature should pick this up.
