The VAIO NR Series VGN-NR240E/W Notebook Computer from Sony is the perfect blend of mobility, style, and performance. The VAIO comes with software such as Microsoft Works 9.0 SE for productivity and Sony Click to DVD for DVD creation. Sixty-day trials of Microsoft Office 2007 and Norton 360 All-In-One Security are also included. Bringing digital photos into your computer is easy with the Memory Stick Duo and Secure Digital memory card readers, and you can capture digital video through the FireWire port. You can easily connect peripheral devices to the computer via the four installed USB 2.0 ports.

The system is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T2330 CPU and boasts 1GB of RAM, a 200GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive, a dual layer SuperMulti DVD burner, wireless Ethernet, and a 15.4" widescreen display powered by Intel GMA X3100 graphics. Windows Vista Home Premium is the platform that ties all this hardware and software together, providing a great portable computer for the digital savvy family, backed by the Sony name.

The dual-core technology delivers two execution cores in one CPU, giving you better performance than a comparable single-core processor.

• Windows Vista Home Premium: The computer comes preloaded with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system from Microsoft. Vista includes the slick Aero user interface, complete with the Windows Sidebar, gadget support, Flip3D navigation and more. The Home Premium edition of Vista includes the popular Windows Media Center application. This lets your computer more easily connect to your home theater and wirelessly stream media to the Xbox 360 or another compatible media extender device.

• Widescreen Display: The laptop has a 15.4" high-definition widescreen display that brings your movies and photos to life with amazing color and clarity. The widescreen aspect ratio increases the width of the notebook's display while giving the computer the form factor of a smaller computer, so it takes up less space on your desk or in your briefcase.

• Internet Access: AOL Trial software is included, allowing you to easily get connected to the Internet whether you choose to go with dial-up or broadband. This lets you get connected to the web and e-mail quickly so that you can see what it has to offer.

• Virus Protection: The included Norton 360 All-In-One Security software comes with a trial subscription to help you protect your computer from malicious software such as viruses and spyware. This helps to protect your computer when you are browsing the web or reading e-mail.
