Microboards printers, in particular, the PF Pro work very well. The standard cartridges they use are exactly the same as HP 88s and if you use the Taiyo Yuden discs you are in for quality that rivals that of thermal printers. However, I have been frustrated that the standard HP 88 cartridge does not work in the Microboards printers but alas there is a compatible on the market by Recording Media and Equipment Inc that uses these standard HP cartridges and somehow found a way to make them compatible. Props to them. You really should always use the Taiyo Yuden discs though- that is the primary pathway to quality. Compatible cartridges are probably the same quality as the Mboards because they all come from the same HP 88 cartridge.
