[...]I bought this camera because I am a powerlifter and 1. wanted to record my lifts, to see if my form needed improvement; 2. to make training videos (using IMovie) for fun and personal use.So, I needed a camera that works with Apple's Imovie and/or Final Cut (should I decide to upgrade to the latter). It was very confusing to find such a camera, but I found a link to an Apple site that lists exactly what cameras they tested that works with their system. This camera was on that list, and I did more research and bought it.For my needs, this camera could not be any better. There's 30 GB of memory and a slot of a SD card, so even more Gigs can be added. I've already recorded about 2 hours of stuff and haven't even come close to using 1 GB. So I doubt I'll have memory needs. However, one who uses the camera more often (perhaps only those on a daily basis) might have problems. For those spending a week's vacation, you could record every moment you want, I'd imagine. As for the battery, I did not want to be changing batteries in the middle of a workout, so I bought the highest powered battery (something-23, as opposed to the something-08 that came with the camera), and with that battery, I can have the camera running and recording every now and then during a 4 hour session and still have nearly full power. I cannot attest to the standard battery because I did not use it.As per size, this camera is the same size as my Iphone. Seriously, it is small, which may be good or bad to different people. As a plus, it easily fits in a purse or bag and can be whipped out in a flash. As a minus, it can fall in between the cushions of the couch. While I said a con is "flimsy construction," I haven't experienced any problems with it (as in breaking, chipping) but I mention that as a potential concern because of its small size. But, I have had no problems with it.One thing - this is NOT a high-definition camera, but it's video quality is much better than my 5 year old tape camera that it replaced. I wasn't looking for high definition anyway. One final caveat - in some lights, the camera may have a picture quality with a red tint. In my living room, there's a chandelier (I don't know what kind of bulbs we use) and the camera has a moderate red tint to anything that is recorded in that room. But, every other room in my house is normal colors, which includes rooms with fluorescent lights. I have yet to record anything outside. In my gym, a public place, I couldn't be happier with the picture quality.Overall, a wonderful camera that suits me perfectly.

I picked this up to add another camera to a live music shoot that I was filming. It's small size and large storage capacity combined with a ridiculously low clearance price made it a sure sale.
Unfortunately, this camera could not handle the sound waves from the amps and PA speakers and would hard drive fail continually. In the end, what little footage I could salvage was so intermittent that it proved utterly pointless to use.
Now, at times it would have a hard time adjusting to low light, with either poor exposure or focusing trouble, but it did produce solid video.
The color rendition in low light seems to be very warm and unsaturated, but the video itself looks sharp.
My recommendation would be to grab one of these for home videos or daylight shooting. Definitely DO NOT buy one of these for shooting live music or any situation that is in a loud enviroment.

We are using this for our Athletic games. Students tape the games and then they are reviewed for future games. So far they have been easy to use and our final product is everything that the Athletic department wants to prepare for future games.

Comments about JVC GZ-MG330H Hybrid 30GB HDD/MicroSD Camcorder (Silver):
This little camera offers so much for so little. I was mainly interested in a camcorder to record my art demonstrations. The 30GB hard drive allows me to record an entire lesson without downloading. With the AV function I can view as I work on my TV and with the little remote control I can zoom in and out with out going to the camera on the tripod. I use the AC adapter so the so-so average battery life is not a concern. The only disappointment is the output is not a true Mpeg 4 as stated. It's a .MOD and I have to use their software then convert to an AVI to use with the software I prefer. B&H beat everyone's price [...] Great company neat camcorder!I'm a happy teacher and customer!

I have used the camera for both video and still shots. Zooming in for graduation, the camera did very well. Not so good with distant still shots, but closer up they are very clear. Being light weight, this camera doesn't get heavy while filming. It also films well with moving objects. I filmed my daughters show choir and it turned out wonderful! I will be purchasing a larger battery for longer filming. The provided battery just isn't quite enough.

I have owned this camcorder for about a year now. It is a good camcorder for standard every day use. The resolution is average, not HD video quality by any means. This was an impulse by for me when [...] had them on sale for $380. I would recomend this camcorder to the average user, especially for [$]. If i had it to do over again i would have purchased an HD camcorder. The only gripe i have about this camcorder is that it records in .mod instead of .mpg, which is not compatable with many media players. Also it's too small for a person with large hands and the battery life could be better.
