Comments about Pearstone 600 4-Section Compact Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head - Supports 3.3 lb (1.5kg):
This item is perfect for what it is - an inexpensive, lightweight tripod. It collapses down to about 15" in length (in the carrying case) and weighs about 1 pound. It's easy to travel with as I typically travel with my camera and accessories in a pack (messenger bag or backpack) via bicycle and was looking for a lightweight travel tripod that would support the weight of a camera w/ telephoto lens. Since it is so light, at times I thought it wasn't sturdy enough but I haven't had any issues yet. Just be careful with what you're doing and it should be fine. Additional stability will come with additional weight, though. The head has a quick release plate making attaching the camera to the tripod easier. I would recommend using a remote shutter release to avoid any unwanted movement in the camera.

This would be a great product for home use. In a photography classroom full of teenagers they break easily. My students take good care of equipment, but can be rough with it. These are made more for one owner use, not 50 owner use. They are nice tripods and excellent for the cost!!!!

If you are looking for a lightweight and delicate tripod that sits four feet off the ground for cameras and flat HD camcorders like a VADO or Flipcamera, this is the tripod for you. Comes with it's own nylon bag. I'm using these tripods(5) to teach 13 year olds how to shoot video. The price is right at 14 + dollars.

I wasnt expecting much out of this tripod when I saw the cheap price tag. [...]I was amazed at the construction. The 3-way head works great! lock it in and you good to go! I have used this in the snow and had no problems. Also the feet are rounded instead of square so it has better stability on uneven ground.

I bought this tripod to hook onto my daypack for shooting while hiking. I'm using a point & shoot digital which works great with this lightweight tripod. I would probably want something a bit sturdier if I was going to mount an expensive SLR on it, but I can't say for sure, because I haven't tried to do that. This comes with a nice little zip bag with a strap to stow it in, which is nice as well. I'm happy with my purchase. I wanted an inexpensive, lightweight tripod & this fits the bill.

I have not used it much, but its lightweight and compact design will allow me to bring my camera and tripod on more hiking trips and bike trips. It'll fit into any backpack and won't slow you down. It's not as sturdy as a solid, heavier tripod, but it does the trick and will work well as long as it's not too windy. The removable attachment feature makes it great for quick assembly to the camera. It's a little short, but if you're under 6 ft tall, you should be able to bend over a little and still use the viewfinder.
