Sony's HDR-SR10 40GB Hybrid HDD/Memory Stick High Definition Camcorder brings together true 1920 x 1080 HD quality and hybrid recording thanks to the hard disk drive and Memory Stick media recording options. Capture beautiful images with the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS sensor featuring a BIONZ processor and Exmor technology. And, to ensure that you don't return from your dream vacation with ruined memories, the Face detection feature automatically detects and focuses in on all the faces in your images.

The HDR-SR10 also features a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens for professional looking results, 15x optical zoom and a 2.7" widescreen touch panel Clear Photo Plus LCD display for easy access to menus and navigation. An HDMI connection with Bravia Sync lets you transfer audio and video with one cable to Bravia HDTVs and other compatible HDTVs.

• Full 1920 x 1080 Recording: Record in the true clarity and detail of full 1920 x 1080 HD.

• Face Detection for Video & Still Images: The BIONZ processor enables the Face Detection technology on the HDR-UX10 camcorder. This system recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in a frame automatically adjusting focus, exposure and color for the most natural skin tones in each image while leaving background images unchanged.

• 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor with Exmor Technology and BIONZ Image Processor: Capture stunningly clear video and stills with the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor. The BIONZ image processor provides faster response times from the camera and noise reduction for perfect pixels. Exmor technology provides high resolution images with outstanding detail and rich tones, further improving this already spectacular image sensor.

• BIONZ Image Processor: Sony's BIONZ Image Processor uses hardware based Large Scale Integrated (LSI) circuitry to provide the camera with a faster response time and prolong battery life. The BIONZ also removes noise from the image prior to RAW data conversion for the cleanest video possible and handles the Dynamic Range Optimization processing.

• Exmor Technology: The Exmor technology featured in the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS sensor provides high resolution and sensitivity that results in rich, detailed stills and video.

• Hybrid Recording to the 40GB Hard Disk Drive or Memory Stick Media: Record to the 40GB internal hard disk drive or to Sony's own Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo (sold separately) recording media. Images from the HDD can be transferred in-camera to Memory Stick media. Use the Memory Stick media in your PC or compatible Memory Stick device for uploading to edit, email, or print.

• Dual Record 2: When recording in HD simultaneously capture still images to Memory Stick media.

• 15x Optical Zoom: 15x optical zoom brings your subject close with clarity and no loss of video image.

• 2.7" Wide Hybrid Touch Panel Clear Photo LCD Plus Display: The widescreen touch panel 2.7" LCD display rotates up to 270° for optimal recording from any angle. Now you can get any shot you want and frame what you're recording without loosing the image.

• Built-In Zoom Mic with 5.1 Channel Recording: When your camera's zoom goes in for the close-up so does the built-in zoom mic. The mic focuses on the sound coming from your subject, letting all other noises fall into the background for clear and accurate dialogue and sound.

• Dynamic Range Optimizer 2: Never worry again about capturing images on bright days or in low-light conditions. The BIONZ processor powers this high-speed processing engine that automatically adjusts the scene for you. Bright highlights are brought down, preventing whiteout and preserving detail even on the sunniest of days. In lowlight or backlit settings the Dynamic Range Optimizer brings out detail in shadows resulting in a natural and clear scene.

• Switchable HD/SD Format: Capture and playback in either high definition (HD)4 or standard definition video.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens: Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses have been designed especially for consumer camcorders. These lenses offer the sharpness and quality of professional lenses. The T coating reduces and prevents flare and glare in your images.

• HDMI Connection with Bravia Sync (CEC) Technology: This HDMI connection allows HD video and 5.1 channel audio signals to transfer from the camcorder to a compatible HDTV via one cable using Bravia Sync (CEC) technology. Control the HDTV and the camcorder with the Bravia TV remote as well thanks to the HDMI.

• i.LINK Interface: Transfer high speed audio and video to IEEE1394 interfaces such as digital VCRs, other camcorders, and computers using the bi-directional, digital inline Interface.

• InfoLITHIUM Battery with AccuPower Meter System: The InfoLITHIUM Battery with the AccuPower Meter System is one smart rechargeable battery. View remaining battery or charging time (in minutes) on the LCD or viewfinder so you always know where you're at with battery life. These batteries are not subject to memory effect which shortens battery life when you charge too often. Charge whenever you want without worry.

• Film Roll Index 2: Sony makes finding scenes quick and user-friendly with the Film Roll Index 2. Much like the chapters in a book the index helps you find the video scenes you want by previewing the beginning. You also have the option to display scenes at intervals of 3, 6 and 12 seconds or 1 and 5 minutes.

• Face Index 2: The ingenious Face Index 2 technology lets you find the video scene you want by face. Choose from the faces displayed in the index and the scenes in which that person appears will be selected.

• Photo TV HD Viewing with HDMI Output: The HDMI output to the Bravia HDTV and other compatible HDTVs lets you view photos with HD accuracy in either standard screen (4:3) or widescreen (16:9). On select Bravia HDTV models your photos will automatically be shown with improved gradation, sharpness and color.

• Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilization: Sony's Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) provides an even greater level of protection from the age old problem of handshake. Record remarkably clean, steady video every time.
