Hi friends,

I was waiting for great deal on this camcorder since last few days, and found at B&H. I have received cam on time but...The video quality inside is horrible. It's not even near standard definition camcorder. May be outside it's great. But with limited storage and time it takes to finalize DVD is more than expected. I have finalized 1 DVD and it's not playing any DVD player (I tried 4).

I will go with hard disk models if I find better deal.

Excellent Picture Quality, easy to use, 3 storage formats, good zoom and great price. Easily compares in picture quality to high end models. Purchased a Canon HG 20 initially and returned it and bought this Sony. Great Camcorder!!! Could do better in low light.

We use this for our woodturning meetings in conjunction with a dvd recorder. The ease of use and the remote for zooming in and out when the demonstrator is talking vs. turning is wonderful. It would be nice if the internal memory was able to hold more, but that isnot critical in our use of the camcorder.

I use it for home video, like the picture quality but the dvd takes only 15 minutes of HD recording.
I have to keep changing dvd's.

This is one versatile and easy to use camcorder. I love the fact that I can record to internal flash memory, memory stick, or mini DVD. The quality is excellent good lighting. Inside or under low light conditions, the quality is OK (a solid B). The sound with the built in mic is the best I have ever heard! It is amazing. SD content is also very good.

I own HDR-UX5 before I really like it but my son dropped it so it broke and cost about $400 to repair. After that I bought Sony DCR-SX41. I don't like this one at all. First it is too small in my palm so it easy shaking when recording. Second the recorded video is not good compare to HDR-UX5. I return & buy HDR-UX20. The video quality is great (the same or better HDR-UX5). The greeat feature is recording on either external or internal flash memory, and DVD. It makes more convenience to transfer video & picture. So far I really like it and it will be with me on my vacation next month.

I needed a secondary camcorder for events and weddings. I wanted a high def with motion control and ease of use. Internal memory, memory card and DVD storage gave lots of options. I really like this camcorder. The packaged battery doesn't have the long life I needed, so I purchased a six hour battery and don't have any problems to be ready at a minute's notice.

i have used this camera and feel quite satisfied, i kind of delayed due to a review in [@]camcorderinfo.... but reading few other user review dared to buy it. and thanks to them, the camera is real good, the clarity during day time incl. stills is great. you can zoom and count the no. of leaves on a branch which is 60ft away, the still with 4mp is good enough to take a photo print. Even in low light(i.e.,under street light) it was good enough and i could shoot a cliping @ almost 120ft away and could recognize the faces in it. the dvd option i felt is useful to empty my memory sticks during long journey, which aren't that costly. otherwise you either pile up memory sticks or carry a laptop and download the clipings etc. in it. so dvd is a good option. the mic reception is mind blowing, i could hear a car sound while i had a footage on my third floor terrace, the depth of the sound matches to the real.The touch screen though small is also quite sensitive so responds well, overall i suggest one can buy this cam. only thing i miss is the smile detect feature, but thats ok, for the money that i spent, and that surely isnt a must feature.
