The compact Sony DCR-SR220 60GB Handycam Camcorder travels easy thanks to its small size and convenient recording options. The 60GB hard disk drive boasts up to 41 hours of recording time in LP mode while the Memory Stick media offers up to 325 minutes in LP mode. In addition, the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS sensor with Exmor technology and the BIONZ image processor provides excellent video and stills to fill all that recording time with clear, beautiful video and 4Mp still images.

This hybrid camcorder also features a built-in zoom microphone for capturing the most accurate sound when the camera's lens zooms in on a distant subject. The Quick On 2 button ensures that you'll never miss another great moment by keeping your camera ready to record at a touch. The Dynamic Range Optimizer balances out the image in tough lighting situations for detail and clarity while the dual record feature lets you simultaneously record video and stills. Forget about tapes and DVDs, with the SR220 and focus on what really matters.

• 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor with Exmor Technology and BIONZ Image Processor: Capture stunningly clear video and stills with the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS Sensor. The BIONZ image processor provides faster response times from the camera and noise reduction for perfect pixels. Exmor technology provides high resolution images with outstanding detail and rich tones, further improving this already spectacular image sensor.

• Hybrid Recording to the 60GB Hard Disk Drive or Memory Stick Media: Record to the 60GB internal hard disk drive or to Sony's own Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo (sold separately) recording media. Images from the HDD can be transferred in-camera to Memory Stick media. Use the Memory Stick media in your PC or compatible Memory Stick device for uploading to edit, email, or print.

• BIONZ Image Processor: Sony's BIONZ Image Processor uses hardware based Large Scale Integrated (LSI) circuitry to provide the camera with a faster response time and prolong battery life. The BIONZ also removes noise from the image prior to RAW data conversion for the cleanest video possible and handles the Dynamic Range Optimization processing.

• Exmor Technology: The Exmor technology featured in the 2.3Mp ClearVid CMOS sensor provides high resolution and sensitivity that results in rich, detailed stills and video.

• Face Detection for Video & Still Images: The BIONZ processor enables the Face Detection technology on the HDR-UX10 camcorder. This system recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in a frame automatically adjusting focus, exposure and color for the most natural skin tones in each image while leaving background images unchanged.

• 15x Optical Zoom: 15x optical zoom brings your subject close with clarity and no loss of video image.

• 2.7" Wide Hybrid Touch Panel Clear Photo LCD Plus Display: The widescreen touch panel 2.7" LCD display rotates up to 270° for optimal recording from any angle. Now you can get any shot you want and frame what you're recording without loosing the image.

• Dual Record 2: When recording in HD simultaneously capture still images to Memory Stick media.

• Memory Stick PRO Duo Media Slot: The Memory Stick PRO Duo Media slot allows you to insert Memory Stick PRO Duo and Memory Stick Duo media (sold separately) for capturing video and still images.

• Quick On-2: Don't ever miss the key moment again! One press of the Quick On button puts the camcorder into sleep mode, when you press the button a second time it comes on, ready to record.

• Built-In Zoom Mic with 5.1 Channel Recording: When your camera's zoom goes in for the close-up so does the built-in zoom mic. The mic focuses on the sound coming from your subject, letting all other noises fall into the background for clear and accurate dialogue and sound.

• Dynamic Range Optimizer 2: Never worry again about capturing images on bright days or in low-light conditions. The BIONZ processor powers this high-speed processing engine that automatically adjusts the scene for you. Bright highlights are brought down, preventing whiteout and preserving detail even on the sunniest of days. In dark or backlit settings the Dynamic Range Optimizer brings out detail in shadows resulting in a natural and clear scene.

• Easy Handycam Button: Sony knows that camcorders can be complicated at times. That's why they give you the option to keep things simple with the Easy Handycam Button. This option locks out more complicated features. Only the buttons essential to recording remain unlocked, letting you concentrate on capturing and enjoying the moment.

• Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens: Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lenses have been designed especially for consumer camcorders. These lenses offer the sharpness and quality of professional lenses.

• InfoLITHIUM Battery with AccuPower Meter System: The InfoLITHIUM Battery with the AccuPower Meter System is one smart rechargeable battery. View remaining battery or charging time (in minutes) on the LCD or viewfinder so you always know where you're at with battery life. These batteries are not subject to memory effect which shortens battery life when you charge too often. Charge whenever you want without worry.

• Stamina Battery Power Management System: The Stamina Battery Power Management System lets the camcorder extend InfoLITHIUM battery life for extra long recording.

• Fader Effects 2: When ending or starting a scene won't due use the black or white fader effects for a smooth, professional looking transition.

• Face Index 2: The ingenious Face Index 2 technology lets you find the video scene you want by face. Choose from the faces displayed in the index and the scenes in which that person appears will be selected.

• Film Roll Index 2: Sony makes finding scenes quick and user-friendly with the Film Roll Index 2. Much like the chapters in a book the index helps you find the video scenes you want by previewing the beginning. You also have the option to display scenes at intervals of 3, 6 and 12 seconds or 1 and 5 minutes.

• On Screen Zoom & Record Buttons: Never worry about hitting the zoom or record buttons when you're in the middle of filming again. With convenient placement on the LCD frame unconventional shots are easier than ever.

• Progressive Shutter System: This feature progressively scans your still images using an interlaced scanning system for detail and accuracy.

• Super NightShot Plus Infrared System: Ever want to record at night or in low light but can't? Well now you can. The Super NightShot Plus Infrared System records with a slow shutter speed to capture video even in complete darkness (0 lux) providing video with both color and clarity.
