Comments about Sony DCR-DVD810 8GB Hybrid DVD/Memory Stick Standard Definition Camcorder:
I mainly use the DVD810 to record short videos of my model trains running and put them on Youtube. I record 1-2 minute clips and edit them with Adobe Premier elements. It does a very good job and gives quality videos and good audio. I use a Sony Pro Duo memory chip for 99% of the videos and hardly ever use the DVD or built-in memory chip. Overall a great little camera for the money and all I ever need for my uses.
Battery life with the supplied battery is fine for my usage.

Comments about Sony DCR-DVD810 8GB Hybrid DVD/Memory Stick Standard Definition Camcorder:
I use the camera as a training tool for my girls
vball team. The 8gb internal memory makes it easy
to use and I can connect directly to DVD player
for technique and mechanics feedback to the players.
Picture quality is good with gym lighting. If a
player wants to review her mechanics I can copy to
disc for her use.
I found it is durable since I dropped it on kitchen floor from approx. 2 1/2 feet.

Comments about Sony DCR-DVD810 8GB Hybrid DVD/Memory Stick Standard Definition Camcorder:
I am what you would call a gadget person, but my husband is not. This camcorder is so simple to use he is able to pick it up to shoot without any problems. The selling point for me was the use for now. Since the HD technology is not quite mainstream I didn't want to spend the money on an HD camcorder. Also, the memory card technology is the wave of the future, but again, not yet mainstream. The fact that this has memory card technology AND mini DVD technology is perfect. It is the best use for now and will have the needed technology for the future. I love this! I have nothing to complain about!!
