The BP-2L14 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack from Pearstone is designed to replace Canon BP-2L12 or BP-2L14 batteries. Small and lightweight, Lithium-Ion batteries can be charged or discharged at any time without developing memory effects.

I have been using these batteries for over 10 years and this is the first time I have had to replace the originals. They won't hold a charge any more. I would like to see a battery belt where several of these could be installed and fire up one and a time asthey run out of juice. I do that many long shoots that such a consecutive charging battery belt would really be useful. That being said, the batteries themselves are excellent and provide very adequate service.

The Pearlstone lithium-ion battery is a great battery for a reasonable price! I use it to power my 8mm camcorder. The fact that it has no "memory" permits it to be re-charged at any time. I look forward to confiming its virtues on my upcoming trip to the Caribbean.

This battery has suited my HV40 camera very well. It, of course, needs charging every now and again, but what battery doesn't need to be charged. Great battery. If you have a camera similar to an HV40, get this battery. It is also pretty affordable.

Great to have - first use be sure to charge up completely. While not in use, waiting for event to start (long swim meet), turn camera off to save battery. Left it on for 2 hours and got about 1 hour life. However, I am unsure if I fully charged it for this first use, as I thought I had.

I can't say a lot about this battery as I just bought it less than a month ago and have only recharged it once, but it's diffinatly as good as the original Canon battery. It lasted over an hour with the LCD on all the time. I just can't judge a battery so soon without charging it 20-30 times and then see how it works. B&H sent me an email to rate this not long after receipt so maybe I'll comment again in 6 months with a better idea of how it holds up... but so far so good.

The inclusion of the BP-2L14 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (and charger) in the Cannon HV40 kit and subsequent purchase is a good decision.

In use on a Canon ZR950, it lasts through at least 2 miniDV cassettes (standard play). The OEM battery only lasts for only about half of 1 cassette.
