Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
I enjoy photographing brids in the filelds and waterside. This head can stabilize my camera equioments but simultaneously easy to chase the movements. Still bids is ok and also for flying birds this head is very much suitable for shooting. This is realy excellent equipmets.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
I've shot with Sachtler heads for more than 35 years, from the Cine 75HD all the way down to this FSB-6. They are simply the best heads made, just match your payload to the model and no other head comes close.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
Very well made head and works well so far. There is a very small bit of play in the damping that requires keeping pressure on the handle at the end of a pan to avoid a slight "bounce back". Be mind full of the weight the rigs used as this is limited to around 13 lbs. Expensive but well made.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
Perfect for lightweight hdslr rigs. It is totally solid on my speedlock 75 cf legs with 10 lbs of gear on top of it.
Easy to balance, perfectly smooth movements.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
I mentioned in the previous review that the balance on the head is slightly to the rear. It seems that the head is balanced with the control arm off of the head. Once the control arm is place on the head, this throws the balanced or detente position slightly to the back of center. The control arm sticks out about 12-14 inches or so and this throws the balance slightly backward. A minor incovenience which is corrected by mounting the camera slightly forward of its center of gravity.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
The video head has very robust construction and is a pleasure to operate. I mounted this on a set of Gitzo 6X (G1138) legs with the flat mounting 3/8" base. Used the Acratech leveling base between the FSB6 and the tripod so I didn't lose the simple leveling capabilities. A very nice solid setup with very light weight (8 lbs including the fluid head, leveling base and tripod legs). Most of my video is outdoor so really was looking to minimize weight as best I could.
The head comes with the 75mm base and integrated flat base. The center screw on the base has a hex nut allowing removal with a crescent wrench to mount it on the flat base. The screw is set with loctite, so it is best to remove it with an impact wrench if you have one available to minimize stress on the 75mm ball. A crescent wrench will do the trick, but it takes quite a bit of torque.
The feel is the silky smooth feel of all of the Sachtler fluid heads. There is only a very slight backlash at the finish that is easy to control by maintaining a slight pressure for a second. The counterbalance system on the head that I received is very good but slightly out of balance with too much reverse pressure (when the camera is aimed down it will come back up unless the center of gravity is moved forward).
The side release base is a real pleasure to deal with and very easy to adjust. The lighting on the bubble level works very well (red would be better instead of the yellow-green).
Expensive, but worth every penny. Might be better to go with a head that has a greater range of adjustments if your plan is to shoot some types of sporting events. Also, Sachtler will add one year to the warranty if you register on the website - pretty reasonable deal.

Comments about Sachtler 0407 FSB-6 Fluid Head:
I have a 25 year old Sachtler Head that is still great but with my HVX 200 I wanted a smaller lighter head. After trying a number of "small" fluid heads none were as smooth as my old Sachtler. With the FSB-6 I now have a small fluid head every bit as good as the "Big Boys" this is truly a Pro head which leaves nothing out and worth every penny, do not wast your money or time on a cheaper head for any Pro work you will regret it in the middle of a job.
The factory rep was very helpful, I was able to remove the long screw in the bottom centre of the ball so it would fit on Gitzo carbon fiber legs.
