The Delkin Devices Archival Gold DVD-R, Scratch Armor Recordable Disc in Hard Case Wallet (Pack of 10) is a disc with an archival life of more than 100 years. This disc has a storage capacity of 4.7GB or two hours of recording time. It has an 8X write speed. The key component is gold, one of the most inert, reflective elements on earth, which makes it perfect to resist the effects of temperature and humidity. This characteristic prevents oxidation, a common cause of failure to most DVD discs. A hard plastic case wallet is included to provide safe storage for the discs. This disc has a Scratch Armor coating that lasts 10 times longer than other recordable media and prevents scratches, scuffs, dirt, chemicals, or fingerprints that can damage it beyond repair.

These are the only DVDs I will give my wedding clients :)
And I use the CDs for other clients.
Put them in a custom case for them, and it has the 'wow' factor. Definitly worth it, but buy a spindle if you can!

These disks are said to retain file information for 100 years. They write and read perfectly on my Mac. They do have a gold coating to protect against corrosion and scratching which is a great feature. They seem to be very good disks for archival imaging purposes. As for the 100 year archive quality...who knows?!
