• Pioneer Hybrid Amplifier Technology (P.H.A.T.): Since heat introduces noise into a signal output path, Pioneer incorporates a special Thermal Compensation Transistor into its hybrid amplifier design, to maintain correct bias levels regardless of temperature. Thus, reproducing a high-quality audio output even under extreme circumstances.

• High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) Repeater x2: If you're looking to pump high-definition DVD playback into your HD displays or projectors, this receiver will do the job. It has a high-bandwidth processor capable of switching 2 HD signals through the HDMI output. It also features an HDMI repeater for use with longer cable lengths. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable.

• 5.1-Channel and Digital Audio Decoding: It uses specific Dolby Digital and DTS codecs to reproduce an enveloping 5.1-channel surround sound experience. The unit encodes Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS, DTS 96/24, and WMA9 Pro Decoding.

• High-Performance Inputs/Outputs: With playback specifications that meet the standards of professionals, it features component video inputs/output for high-resolution low-distortion video reproduction, and digital audio inputs for high quality audio reproduction.

• Freescale 180 MIPS Processing DSP: The Freescale 180 MIPS DSP chip offers low distortion, super-crisp sound processing, and virtually no audio noise in the signal path.

• Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration: For enhanced room acoustics, Pioneer's Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration technology is included with this powerful receiver. This technology detects speakers, and then sets levels, delays and crossovers, as well as measuring room acoustics. It is designed to work with home theater systems to create a larger, fuller listening area without distorting the sound.

• High-Quality 24-bit Audio Processing: Pioneer's 196KHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter is the backbone to this receiver's exceptional multichannel audio conversion. By executing an accurate sound-field reproduction and reducing analog noise in the signal path, it is capable of reproducing an enveloping audio signal that is unsurpassed.

• Exceptional Surround-Sound: It reproduces Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Digital and DTS audio at a frequency response of 20Hz - 20KHz. The dynamic range of this receiver is so well balanced and matched that the center, front and rear channels blend seamlessly.

• XM Satellite/SIRIUS Ready: It is capable of receiving XM Satellite and SIRIUS digital radio, XM Satellite Radio offers XM-HD Surround, which provides 5.1-channel surround sound audio of over 150 digital channels. To listen to XM or SIRIUS radio programming, you would need the (optional) docking adapters and activation of (optional) XM or SIRIUS service.

• iPod Connectivity: This receiver features a convenient front panel mini port, which enables you to simply connect a portable audio device, and a Direct USB port for iPod connectivity. Your iPod effectively becomes another Pioneer component flowing through the receiver.
