If you are expected a seamless transition from Microsoft Office for PC's to MAC you will be disappointed. Instead of a toolbar above the Word document you will need to open a toolbox icon. Once open, you will definitely find more intuitive options for document enhancements but the open box can get in the way so you will find that you are using max/min a lot more often. Powerpoint has a lot of templates that are much easier to use. Excel seems to be less user friendly. You can't right click to insert, cut, paste, delete or copy. You are required to use drop down windows on the toolbar. Outlook is call Entourage. The address book is a lot better with the ability to put a lot more information in the file. Also there are several drop down windows that make it easier to input date.

Here is the problem. I bought a new computer and the vendor I bought it from did not have a copy of Mac Office to buy. I downloaded a trial version that worked great. In the meantime I orderd a copy from B&H. Got the copy from B&H and followed the instuctions to load the new copy on the computer. The instuction tell you to remove the trial version before you attempt to load the new version. I followed the instuctions but all I get is an error message stating that my office did not install correctly. No one seem to be able to help me so now I have a new computer and new leagal software package that does not work and is useless.

For personal use I didn't use Office until I needed it to get work done at home. Now I use office for all my word-processing, spreadsheet and presentation stuff even though there are alternatives available. I don not use Entourage, however, although I may switch from Thunderbird to Outlook when the (free) 2011 upgrade is available.

This is perfect for me. I would even say that it is perfect for anyone who owns a Mac. At a low price this software can be useful to anyone. I mean, who doesn't know a student or someone that regularly writes? Not too many people. This version is great for the student or family or person that may need to open a word document.

They sent me a disc with an air bubble in it. The computer wouldnt eject it after it made a screeching noise for an hour while it downloaded it. I would return it if it werent so inconvenient

Comments about Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Home and Student Edition (3-Computer License):
Used primarily for light business and home use, it is continuously frustrating to encounter the problems that excel and word have caused for years when running under the Mac OS. The only crashes that ever happen on the Mac systems that we use are when excel or work (usually excel) are running. This has been going on for twenty years so I guess I should be used to it by now but I'm not.

The Office 2008 Mac Home and Student edition is very easy to use and has excellent help functions. The menus are intuitively designed; everything works the way you would expect it to work. It is much easier to use than older versions and is much easier to instal. The templates help you get up to speed quickly and allow you to produce professional looking documents from day one. This is an excellent product.
