Comments about Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer:
I use this to mix audio sources for video recording. I plug the sources in (whether they be XLR, 1/4 inch, RCA) then mix and plug in a wireless XLR transmitter to the output. On my videocamera I have a wireless receiver. This little unit has very clean preamps and is very versatile - I like it.

Not happy with the external power supply, aside from that I love it. great sound quality, lots of head room and noise free.

Comments about Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer:
Many routing options, perfect
pre's are nice and smooth not crispy like the original xdr's
I would have to say, being a 15 year engineer, Its your best choice
for the price. Its hard to find a routing, recording or monitoring situation you cant easily solve with this matrix, once again "perfect" Its a micro onyx1640
It could always use more aux sends and a better, sweepable EQ. but than again if they did that it would be $349.99.

Comments about Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer:
If you ever wanted to re dub voice overs of ADR's this is prefect for the job. It gets a little bit of use it but it'll get you what you want, GOOD AUDIO! The only thing that I would like on it is a firewire I/O but other than that if you want to record 8 tracks this is it. Plus you could take it with you anywhere.

Comments about Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer:
When Mackie released the 802-VLZ3 I was psyched to hear it. Now that I own one it is everything I thought it would be.
A proven powerhouse in my compact audio/video work flow.

Comments about Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Channel Compact Audio Mixer:
I down sized from a 1604VLZ that I've had for over 10 years. I come from an audio background, though now I do mostly film & video editing. The little 8 channel has better components and really brightened up the sound in my edit bay. It's small footprint and low heat (the 16-4 got hot) really works better for my setup.
