I like it very much. Camera body is quite narrow. But with this grip, I feel more comfortable.

It's on my camera and helps balance out my Alpha but I don't see myself using it as a vertical grip much. When I need to turn my camera sideways, it helps but I don't think I really need it as an accessory.

I bought this vertical grip to use on my a350 with 70-200mm f2.8 zoom. The lens weighs 3 lb and the camera 1 lb. The bulk and extra weight of the grip provide perfect balance and stability to the rig. I'm able to produce crisp photos in low light at full zoom without a tripod. Awesome.
This is much more than just a vertical grip. The extra battery capability is great for long sessions, but the unit can run on only one battery while I'm charging the other.
My only issue is that my lens tripod collar must be adjusted when using the camera in the vertical position. But that's an issue with the lens design, not the grip.
This is an excellent accessory and I wouldn't even think of using my camera without the grip.

The grip attaches easily and provides easy storage of the camera's battery compartment door. It provides a greater degree of balance to the camera, especially when longer lenses are attached. The second shutter release button is great, camera controls and menu access are minimal, unlike the accessory grip on the a700. I have no complaints. It adds to the overall ease of use.

Great feel, great fit. Does make vertical photo taking much easier, especially for a lefty. Only down side is the price.

I upgraded from the A100 to the A350 and use it for Wedding Photography. The item gives the 350 very easy grip for vertical shots as well as makes the original grip longer for larger hands. Each battery runs down one at a time and the display in the camera shows each battery and the % of power of the battery it is using. The grip ads enough weight to help keep your camera stable..but does not make the camera too heavy to carry around for hours. A must have if your shooting for others. My only con is that it cost more than other camera grips.

At first: sorry for my bad English.

I'm a "left-eyed" guy, using a Sony Alpha 350. Making vertical pictures isn't that easy if you're left-eyed. The vertical grip makes life a lot easier. More-over, the grip is very comfortable in the hand. And of course, the second battery gives a lot more possibilities to shoot pictures without having to worry about loading the battery...

As the headline says, this product is like comfort food. You don't need it, but it sure does feel good. This grip won't make you a professional photographer but it does perform as advertised. For people whose hands are too large for their camera this accesory is sent from the gods of comfort in both the horizontal and vertical format. It doubles your battery life and is engineered well (it even has a place to store the cameras battery cover so it won't get lost). There are no areas that cause problems ergonomically and fit and finish are impeccable. Includes shutter release, selector wheel, AEL and AV buttons.

Great addition to the Sony DSLR cameras that this fits. Not only does it give you a vertical grip and shutter release button. But the adjustment dial and other buttons that are available in portrait mode are there as well. Being able to carry two batteries without having to switch is a good convience too. Nice touch having a place to put the battery compartment door that you have to remove to use this grip so it doesn't get lost. Shame it's almost twice the cost that Minolta used to charge. I would have preferred to have an adapter to use AA lithium or NiMH batteries for emergencies like my minolta grip did.
