The Canopus MVRD4400 MPEG-4 Hardware Encoder Card from Grass Valley is a hardware encoder card with support for MPEG-1, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 video. The card is compatible with MediaEdge Video Distribution Systems. It can be used to capture live analog video to MPEG in realtime. It also supports time lapse recording for CCTV applications. A software development kit is included, allowing developers to write custom applications to support the hardware.
- SDK Included
- The included Software Development Kit (SDK) can be used to develop software applications that leverage the features of the hardware card. The SDK can be used in a Visual C++ 6.0 environment. The card is compatible with applications that were written for the older MVRD4000 hardware. Please note that MPEG capture/playback software is not included.
- Video Overlay Circuitry
- The card features enhanced video overlay circuitry. This allows multiple capture boards to be installed in a single system without degrading overall performance.
- Video Pre-Filtering
- The MVRD4400 supports advanced 3D Y/C separation for color noise reduction and improved image quality. It also supports 3D digital noise reduction, which eliminates noise in analog video signals. The line time base corrector (LTBC) corrects jitter in images. The card also supports digital frame synchronization and auto gain controls.
