Waves, well-known for their high-quality sound processing software, brings you the iGTR, a pocket-sized piece of hardware that lets you rock out with your guitar anytime, anywhere. The iGTR packs enormous power into its small frame. Simply plug in your guitar and hook up your headphones, and you're ready to play to your heart's content without waking up the neighbors.

The iGTR has controls for amps, modulation effects, and ambience effects. Use the switches to select warm, normal, or bright amp sounds. For modulation you can select wah, tremolo, or phaser. Ambience offers delay, chorus, and reverb. Each section also has a control knob to control the amount of amp drive, effect speed, and amount of ambience in the mix.

The unit has two inputs, allowing you to hook up an MP3 player in addition to your guitar so you can play along with your favorite tunes. Two headphone outputs let you listen with a friend, or use headphones while simultaneously driving speakers or a recorder.

Comments about Waves iGTR Personal Guitar Processor:

I bought one of these as a gift for my guitar-playing brother. The tone is amazing (both clean and hard-driven). It distorts very naturally, and the included multi-effects are quite good, enough for the purpose, I'd say.

Between the amp sound and the fx, it delivers a fairly wide range of electric guitar flavors. We played it through a sound system, and it has a very clean, quiet background with a good cable. We had a bad cable that buzzed pretty badly, but that's not the iGTR's fault. Changed cable, problem solved.

The latest version does not seem to be quite the battery hog people say the earlier ones were. We appreciate the included batteries.

The aux input is a nice feature as well. We did use it with that for awhile. Great fun. My brother is impressed, and I hope it will give him an incentive to play more often.

Great value for the price!

Comments about Waves iGTR Personal Guitar Processor:

Imagine being able to practice without "bothering" others with your repetitions and mistakes. This little box is a HUGE bang for the buck because the sound in your headphones is sweetened with reverb, clean or distortion and a few tricky effects. Best thing is the variations you can get so you don't get bored with it. The distortion can be sort of 2 dimensional but it's still very good for the money. I'm so GLAD they didn't try to put a useless, tiny, toneless speaker on it like other mini-amps. A tip to owners is if the sound suddenly cuts off that's your sign that the batteries are weak. I'm using recharagables, so that's not much of a problem.
