I have had this camera for 3 months now and have put it through a lot of use. I originally bought it for group shots, friends, Canada vacation, Vermont vacation, and anything else. I am an inexperienced photographer and this camera is so cool, its very easy to use and is very reliable. It has turned out to be such a reliable camera that takes not just great, but AWESOME photos. Uploading the pictures and videos onto the computer is as easy as pie. My favorite part of this camera is its capabilities for shooting landscapes and scenic photos. After looking through the 350 pictures i took during my Canada vacation, my girlfriend said that a good amount of them look like someone took them professionally. Many friends said the scenic pictures were "frame worthy"
The only cons about this camera are that it doesnt have an automatic lens cover (though it comes with one) and the fact that you cant zoom while taking a video.
Other than that, buy this camera because its the best camera around the 200-300$ range. its an advanced point and shoot with some SLR capabilities. Also, it does come with a battery but i would suggest getting an extra one since you will always be ready for extra shots if your original dies. I dont think it comes with a memory card, so make sure to pick one up. If your going on vacation for more than a week or so and will fill up the memory card, pick up an extra one. Its well worth it...
Trust me, this camera will make any amateur photographer look like a pro!

this is a very user friendly camera with loads of settings. I especially like the low-light no flash because I take a lot of pics thru windows and this eliminates reflections while giving a very clear and detailed pic

I like this camera very much. I bought this to replace an older Sony (DSC W5) and the H10 blows it away. The best part is that I paid almost twice as much for the W5 4 years ago as I did for the H10 from B&H!

good camera for the price - is a bit on the light side so takes some getting used to when focusing. only has one f-stop so is not quite as versatile as I'd like, but I got it as the camera I carry everyday so as not to miss a shot

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera (Black):
I ordered this H-10 & used it for 24 hours before exchanging it for the H-50. Every photo I took was so sharp, that I really struggled with whether to keep it or not. It's very light weight & a bit bigger than the slim-line point & shoots. It has an unbelievable telephoto lens on it that keeps everything crystal clear. Why did I send it back? I wanted something very similiar to the DSLRs with more bells & whistles. Am I disappointed that I didn't keep this one - absolutely! The H-50 is quite a bit heavier & bulkier. The photos on both are virtually identical in sharpness. Both have the same basic features. The H-50 does quite a bit more like aperature & shutter, more MP, & so on. But the weight & size of the H-10 is much easier to stick in your purse & take with you!

I work at a television station and we needed a small compact digital camera to carry around to snap quick shots and for guests in studio. We needed something that was simple, but produced great pictures without a lot of money invested and could do a little more than the Sony we already had. The Sony DSC-H10 far exceeded our needs. Very easy to use, outstanding photos, especially outdoors--and that's because of the quality Carl Zeiss lens. The type of lens is very important when looking at cameras. Also the 10x optical zoom and the 8.1 megapixels produce crisp and well defined photos up close and from far away.
This is a superior camera for so little money. We recommened it for family photos, vacation photos, and for photography bugs who want to begin a hobby.
Cons: No cover for the LCD view.

After using a film camera for 50 years it was a huge treat to go digital. Although my use has so far been limited I can readily see the advantages of the Cyber-shot. I am impressed with the clarity of the shots and the rapid response time.
So far I am pleased as punch with this new-fangled camera. HLB - Age 78
