The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera delivers spectacular photo clarity in a compact body design. With its 10x optical zoom, 8.1 megapixel resolution and a top-quality Carl Zeiss lens, the DSC-H10 packs more photo opportunities in a small size.

The camera is equipped with the Sony Double Anti-Blur Solution which combines Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization with High Sensitivity (ISO 3200) for crisp imaging in low light. The Advanced Sports Mode catches fast action, and the Face Detection system can identify up to eight faces in a picture, so everyone will look their best.

The camera also has the option to provide HD Output (with an optional accessory - sold separately) for spectacular photo viewing on your Sony BRAVIA and other compatible HDTV screens.

8.1 Megapixel Super HAD CCD
The advanced Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD of the DSC-H10 provides 8.1 megapixels of resolution for images with detail and definition to make big prints or crop in tight on your subject. Furthermore, The Super HAD CCD allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise.
Carl Zeiss 10X Zoom Lens
The Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens provides a 10x optical zoom to bring distant subjects closer and lets you frame shots quickly for better composition. Additionally, the camera is equipped with a Smart Zoom feature that intelligently "crops into" the central portion of your photo, providing up to an additional 51x zoom at VGA resolution while avoiding the image degradation common with digital zoom. There is also a traditional 2x digital zoom to quickly pick up even the smallest detail of your subject.
Super SteadyShot Optical Image Stabilization
Sony's Super SteadyShot optical image stabilization uses optical sensors to detect camera movement and send correcting signals to a stabilization lens to minimizes blur caused by shaky hands, and allows even ultra-long-distance digital photos to capture more detail with less camera shake distortion.
High Sensitivity Mode
The high sensitivity mode (ISO 3200) lets you shoot effectively in low light without flash to preserve the mood, helps to minimize blur, and brightens your images. Additionally, the Clear RAW NR (Noise Reduction) system will take care of the picture noise that can ruin low-light shots.
Sleek Compact Body
Sony radically redesigned the positioning of key camera components to fit a powerful 10x Optical zoom capability into a compact design that's easy to carry anywhere. The grip fits firmly into your hand, and the lens ring adds a high-performance feel
Advanced Sports Mode
The DSC-H10 includes a sports shooting mode that combines high shutter speed with intelligent continuous AF that responds more quickly to rapid motion to catch the perfect moment in sports, children's games, pet tricks and more.
Face Detection-2
The Face Detection-2 system incorporated into the camera recognizes up to 8 faces in a photo and automatically controls focus, exposure, color and flash to reveal faces in shadow, make skin tones look more natural and eliminate harsh facial glare.
Manual Exposure Modes
For more creative freedom, a simple wheel-dial control lets you quickly change camera settings in manual modes (shutter speed priority, aperture priority, or manual exposure) and also control ISO sensitivity, focus area, and exposure value. In play mode, the wheel dial provides a quick way to view your next or previous shot.
Long-Distance Flash
The powerful built-in flash provides illumination sufficient to light up a subject over 23' from your camera, with precise light control and the ability to adjust the flash for both front and rear sync when shooting at low-speed sync setting. Plus Auto Daylight Synchro provides effective fill-in flash illumination for backlit subjects, and Macro Flash lets you take ultra-close-up shots with optimal exposure and minimal "whiteout" effect.
9-Point Auto Focus
The DSC-H10 can measure auto-focus precision at 9 points on your screen giving you greater creative freedom to compose your image, with the ability to place your subject off-center in the frame.
D-Range Optimization
Powered by the exclusive Sony Bionz high-speed processing engine, D-range optimization preserves image data in bright highlights and reveals more detail in shadows or backlit areas to provide great results even in difficult lighting conditions.
MPEG Movie VX Fine Mode
The DSC-H10 lets you capture VGA (640 x 480) video clips with sound at high frame rate of up to 30 frames per second, with the clip length limited only by the capacity of your media.
Large 3.0" LCD Screen
Use the large, bright 3.0" Clear Photo LCD Plus Display for composing shots, checking results and sharing your photos on location. Plus the simple camera menus and a simple Function Guide that displays menu information makes it easier for beginners to learn to use the cameras features.
Built-in and Expandable Memory
The DSC-H10 has 31MB of built-in memory allowing you to capture images without a memory card. However, the camera also has a built-in slot for optional Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO Duo media (sold separately), that can support capacities of up to 8GB to store literally thousands of images.
HD Output and HD Slide Show
Present your pictures on a compatible HDTV screen thanks to direct HD (high definition) output (requires an optional adapter) - now you can view your still photos with spectacular HD clarity and detail. Furthermore, the HD Slide Show feature means that you can watch your photos come alive, accompanied by your choice of visual effects and any of four preset musical selections stored in memory or your favorite MP3 tunes.
In-Camera Retouching and Red-Eye Reduction
The DSC-H10 has a range of in-camera editing effects available to customize your images. Built in image effects include a soft edge filter to soften backgrounds, a cross filter to place starry "dazzles" at highlight points, a partial color filter to mute surrounding colors and a fish-eye filter to create interesting results. There is also a built-in red-eye reduction feature that reduces irritating "glowing eyes" that can ruin even the most creative photos.
Stamina Battery Power
The included rechargeable NP-BG1 Lithium Ion Battery provides sufficient power to capture up to 300 shots on a full charge. That's enough power to cover a long weekend or a whole vacation without needing to recharge.
Includes Picture Motion Browser Software
The supplied Picture Motion Browser software makes it easy to upload, organize and search photos on your PC, and provides a convenient map view function to sort photos by location and display their origin on a world map by using an optional GPS unit.

I have had this camera for 3 months now and have put it through a lot of use. I originally bought it for group shots, friends, Canada vacation, Vermont vacation, and anything else. I am an inexperienced photographer and this camera is so cool, its very easy to use and is very reliable. It has turned out to be such a reliable camera that takes not just great, but AWESOME photos. Uploading the pictures and videos onto the computer is as easy as pie. My favorite part of this camera is its capabilities for shooting landscapes and scenic photos. After looking through the 350 pictures i took during my Canada vacation, my girlfriend said that a good amount of them look like someone took them professionally. Many friends said the scenic pictures were "frame worthy"

The only cons about this camera are that it doesnt have an automatic lens cover (though it comes with one) and the fact that you cant zoom while taking a video.

Other than that, buy this camera because its the best camera around the 200-300$ range. its an advanced point and shoot with some SLR capabilities. Also, it does come with a battery but i would suggest getting an extra one since you will always be ready for extra shots if your original dies. I dont think it comes with a memory card, so make sure to pick one up. If your going on vacation for more than a week or so and will fill up the memory card, pick up an extra one. Its well worth it...

Trust me, this camera will make any amateur photographer look like a pro!

this is a very user friendly camera with loads of settings. I especially like the low-light no flash because I take a lot of pics thru windows and this eliminates reflections while giving a very clear and detailed pic

I like this camera very much. I bought this to replace an older Sony (DSC W5) and the H10 blows it away. The best part is that I paid almost twice as much for the W5 4 years ago as I did for the H10 from B&H!

good camera for the price - is a bit on the light side so takes some getting used to when focusing. only has one f-stop so is not quite as versatile as I'd like, but I got it as the camera I carry everyday so as not to miss a shot

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera (Black):

I ordered this H-10 & used it for 24 hours before exchanging it for the H-50. Every photo I took was so sharp, that I really struggled with whether to keep it or not. It's very light weight & a bit bigger than the slim-line point & shoots. It has an unbelievable telephoto lens on it that keeps everything crystal clear. Why did I send it back? I wanted something very similiar to the DSLRs with more bells & whistles. Am I disappointed that I didn't keep this one - absolutely! The H-50 is quite a bit heavier & bulkier. The photos on both are virtually identical in sharpness. Both have the same basic features. The H-50 does quite a bit more like aperature & shutter, more MP, & so on. But the weight & size of the H-10 is much easier to stick in your purse & take with you!

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera (Black):

I work at a television station and we needed a small compact digital camera to carry around to snap quick shots and for guests in studio. We needed something that was simple, but produced great pictures without a lot of money invested and could do a little more than the Sony we already had. The Sony DSC-H10 far exceeded our needs. Very easy to use, outstanding photos, especially outdoors--and that's because of the quality Carl Zeiss lens. The type of lens is very important when looking at cameras. Also the 10x optical zoom and the 8.1 megapixels produce crisp and well defined photos up close and from far away.
This is a superior camera for so little money. We recommened it for family photos, vacation photos, and for photography bugs who want to begin a hobby.
Cons: No cover for the LCD view.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera (Black):

After using a film camera for 50 years it was a huge treat to go digital. Although my use has so far been limited I can readily see the advantages of the Cyber-shot. I am impressed with the clarity of the shots and the rapid response time.
So far I am pleased as punch with this new-fangled camera. HLB - Age 78

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 Digital Camera (Black):

This camera is simple to operate and the zoom is great. I bought it because the optical zoom was so powerful but it is a great camera overall for the money.
