This camera is great for the snapshot vacationer, as well as the experienced photographer. The "paint pen" is a great addition.
I am still learning all that this camera has to offer. I'm sure it will take a long time for me to feel the need for a more advanced piece of equipment.
One drawback, for those of us who are not tops with electronics, is the limited information booklet. I would have like a more detailed set of instructions.

The slide shutter is bothersome. If you plan to keep this in your pocket, don't. The shutter slides down and the camera is often on and you dont know it.
This camera truly does have a very fast reaction to picture time, probably the best on the market.
The zoom control is on the edge of the camera, originally I was concerned, but later learned to appreciate the location.
The lens on the other hand is in a bad spot. Having the lens on the upper side is often a problem, especially when asking someone else to take the picture - youre invariably stuck with a picture of their finger.
Most troubling was the poor performance of the camera in low lighting surroundings, anything other than perfect lightint led to poor quality pictures.
Overall would rate this a 3/5.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 Digital Camera (Black):
use the camera's outside and inside the home, mainly to take portraits and landscape shots.
Like very much the big screen and also the zoom is in comparison with my prior canon (powershot SD 630)much better.
It's overloaded with technic which makes it sometimes difficult to find the best solutions.

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 Digital Camera (Black):
This camera offers most everything. It's easy to carry, fast to use (except lag time between shots) yields quality enlargements. This will not disappoint any serious amateur or professional for backup use. For fast action I revert to my Nikon and interchangeable lenses. The price of the T300 is awesome!

Hi all !
That's the best product I've ever purchased for a compact camera. I have a digital reflex, and in comparison is quite good with it !

Comments about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T300 Digital Camera (Black):
Great for travel, easy to carry, very flexible for differing subjects, lighting, etc., good quality optics, love the 5:1 optical zoom. The non-telescoping lens keeps it very compact. Only problem is lack of a viewfinder... trying to see the screen on the back, even with the bright display, is tough in bright sunlight.
