Samsung's SC-HMX20C Hybrid 8GB Flash Memory SD/SDHC Camcorder provides you with true 1920 x 1080 progressive high definition video and up to 90 minutes of internal memory space. An SD/MMC external memory slot offers extra recording space should you need it. And, when you're ready to capture still images you'll get the same 1920 x 1080p quality with 4Mp of resolution. Place the sleek and compact SC-HMX20C in your bag and you'll be ready to capture family gatherings as well as the spontaneous.
As for other features, the 2.7" Touch LCD boasts intuitive menu navigation for those who are tired of scrolling and guessing which button does what while the 10x optical zoom brings your far off subjects up close with clarity and no loss in image quality. In addition, the swivel handgrip ensures new options for recording traditionally hard to capture moments - such as subjects that are up high or down low. When you're ready to share your footage either use the USB 2.0 high speed connection for fast uploading to your PC or the HDMI for high definition transfer to your PC, TV or other digital A/V device.

Large 1/2" sensor is bigger than most other consumer cameras = good low light results & low noise! Real 1080/30P recording is not converted to 1080/60i like others. 300 FPS is fun for the kids and good teaching aid. Only real missing feature is optical stabilization. Too bad Samsung's new models changed to the smaller sensor.

My wife has been wanting a digital camcorder for a few years now. Especially since our little boy is turning one soon. So I did a ton of research and had seen the SC-HMX20C before but had not thought I would need a HD camera. Well a few months went by and I saw it in Popular Science as a gadget of 2008. Well I went and got one. [...] My wife was videoing our son's first Christmas and in HD. I really didn't think it would be that spectacular until we played it back on our flat panel (also by Samsung). HOLY COW it was perfect.Love it and would consider buying it again!

SC-HMX20C provides a friendly user interface. It is compact and handy. The video quality is great and works well with my 47" full HD LCD TV. The 8GB internal memory is just fine with about 70 minute video recording. SC-HMX20C is affordable compared to Sony's expensive full HD camcorders with hard disks.

This extremely portable, totally easy to use camera has not left my side since I bought it. I can bring it anywhere and everywhere - the 1080p footage it kicks out (which is so easy to view, I can hook it up directly to my TV, view it through my PS3 or on the computer) is beautiful, the slow motion option never fails to impress (just make sure whatever you're shooting is completely in focus before you hit record).
I've been shooting great outdoor footage - lots of slow motion at the beach, etc. I've also recorded
staged table readings, birthday parties.
It works great under low light conditions. Also, even though it's advertised as having no external mic input - it absolutely does (the built in mic is pretty good, but having the option to use wireless mics or a more high end mic is a nice plus)
Because of it's small size, it's a little more sensitive to movement (it's easy to pan too quickly). The cradle is also a bit awkward (it sits at a strange angle)
These two small cons pale in comparison to what an outstanding camera this is - just unbelievable for the price.
