Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
I purchase this 8GB SanDisk CF to replace the 2x4GB Generic Disks that came "free" when purchased with Nikon D2Xs and zoom lens package years ago. I hope to begin shooting RAW.
It is fast enough and the price is great.
SanDisk is always a reliable brand to me.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
The B&H rep helped me select between the more expensive 8GB card and the Ultra. He pointed out that I would not benefit from the faster card because of my camera....saved me money and I appreciated his honesty. However....ALWAYS check your memory cards before using them....this was the first time that I got a message that said "Card Damaged...do not use" when I put it in my camera! Lucky for me I checked it out before heading to my job!

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
I bought 4 for my trip to South America and used 3. The one that was still in my camera downloaded fine, but the other two, which were full, turned out to both be corrupted. I had been checking photos along the way, so was totally bummed to see that all my Galapagos and Machu Picchu photos were gone! Very upset. Thank god I had my point and shoot which uses a memory stick instead.

Used on my recent trip to NYC. Walked around all day taking pictures and only had to use one card even while shooting in RAW.

I use a mixture of sandisk cf cards. They have always been reliable. Although uploading can be a little slow with this particular card. But at this price I think that is expected.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
I generally use a fast UDMA card in my 5DmkII, and was a little worried that the slower "Ultra" version would slow me down. It hasn't at all, and on a shoot I can barely tell the difference between the faster card and this one. The only time the difference is a little more obvious is writing the files to the computer, but that's not a big deal for me (I'm docking 1 star for that).
I should say that I never use continuous shooting mode, so I'm only taking single shots. The write time is of course longer than with the UDMA cards, but for value, these Ultras are a bargain.

While this card is not the fastest it gives me far more speed than what I need for a standard portait shoot with my Canon 5D.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
I bought two of the them and they work perfect! Before it would take ages to copy my raw pictures from the Cameras memory to the memory card, so the continous pictures takin mechanism wasn't very usefull. Now with these cards it works like a charm.

This was a free item given as part of a promotion.
Generally I wouldn't buy anything under 32GBs anymore and wondered what I would do with this card. First I put it though its paces with our regular cameras, and it actually performed very well, meeting its rated spec on reads and writes. It even did fine on HD video. Anyway I ended using it to replace an ond 4GB card that sits in a virtual antique of a digital camera. Its my beater that I keep on me at all times "just in case". It often stays in the hot car during Chicago summers (upper 90s a lot recently), and its still performs find when I use it. I wouldn't recomend torturing any card like this, but it seems to take it fine.
The only problem is I'll never use the 8GB capacity on this card. Heck I don't think I have ever managed to take 2GB of images with the low res of the old camera, but the old card really needed to be retired after all these years. It was a a SanDisk too. Guess I just like their cards, and no...thats not the free gift talking.

This is a great card for any photographer. It is fast (enough) and has a nice size memory for short trips (if you take a lot of high res RAW photos). It is also great as a back up card for your pack. I have found the the SanDisk product line in general to be very reliable. And at this price, this card is a super value.

Bought two of these to use in my Canon 7D. Works perfectly. Always had great success with SanDisk SD card products in my other SLR camera, so I expect this will be the same.

I used & trusted SanDisk compact Flash with my own sons wedding! I have been a Pro Photographer for over 26 years and have converted to digital over 11 years ago! The photographs look wonderful
and was plenty fast for a wedding. I did not worry about this card losing or corrupting any shots!
Thanks SanDisk! Mario, CPP
