I've trusted the Sandisk brand for years and these new 8GB cards don't disappoint! The Ultra II speed seems to keep up with my camera buffer, but if you're looking for super-quick download (to computer) speed, go for the Extreme III or IV models.

BEST MEMORY CARD BRAND IN THE MARKET. Use this card on canon 30D, super fast read/write speed, plenty of storage space, only need one CF card when travelling now.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
Works perfect on my "old" Canon 20D. Shots transfer from camera buffer to CF at a good speed and I'm able to shoot continuous for several frames before noticing write speed decrease.

Superfast with the Canon 40D in picture taking and in downloading through the camera.
The 40D is probably too easy for this card. No complaint.

I don't need super fast speed so I can't rate based on speed. But for my needs (portraits and events) it works great.

I use the SanDisk CF cards for all of my photography session storage needs. I've used 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB SanDisk CF storage products for years with ZERO issues! The Recovery software, RecoveryPro, that is included with SanDisk memory card products, has been a lifesaver on numerous occasions as well. I can't speak more highly of a product manufacturer than SanDisk!

Large Capacity
Excellent Quality
Great Price
About 7 yrs ago when I purchased my first DSLR, Canon 10D, I also purchased four 256MB Sandisk Ultra cards for $75 each. That is the same as 1GB card for $300 plus tax! That would make this 8GB card cost $2500.00 (incl. tax).
The 10D still takes great photos. I paid $1800 for the camera (body only) and similar cameras go for about the same price today (with lens).
Comparing the price drop in memory cards to DSLRs, we would be able to buy a Canon 7D for about $15.
Think about it!

I purchase this 8GB SanDisk CF to replace the 2x4GB Generic Disks that came "free" when purchased with Nikon D2Xs and zoom lens package years ago. I hope to begin shooting RAW.
It is fast enough and the price is great.
SanDisk is always a reliable brand to me.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
The B&H rep helped me select between the more expensive 8GB card and the Ultra. He pointed out that I would not benefit from the faster card because of my camera....saved me money and I appreciated his honesty. However....ALWAYS check your memory cards before using them....this was the first time that I got a message that said "Card Damaged...do not use" when I put it in my camera! Lucky for me I checked it out before heading to my job!

I bought 4 for my trip to South America and used 3. The one that was still in my camera downloaded fine, but the other two, which were full, turned out to both be corrupted. I had been checking photos along the way, so was totally bummed to see that all my Galapagos and Machu Picchu photos were gone! Very upset. Thank god I had my point and shoot which uses a memory stick instead.

I use a mixture of sandisk cf cards. They have always been reliable. Although uploading can be a little slow with this particular card. But at this price I think that is expected.

Comments about SanDisk 8GB Ultra CompactFlash:
I generally use a fast UDMA card in my 5DmkII, and was a little worried that the slower "Ultra" version would slow me down. It hasn't at all, and on a shoot I can barely tell the difference between the faster card and this one. The only time the difference is a little more obvious is writing the files to the computer, but that's not a big deal for me (I'm docking 1 star for that).
I should say that I never use continuous shooting mode, so I'm only taking single shots. The write time is of course longer than with the UDMA cards, but for value, these Ultras are a bargain.
