The Axis Communications 0278-021 surveillance package contains ten AXIS 216MFD network cameras. Through the use of a 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, these cameras are able to produce ultra high resolution images with superior brightness, sharpness and color fidelity. This level of image quality translates into better identification of people and objects, making them particularly useful in monitoring entrances, checkout counters and similar critical security areas. Cameras are also designed to be small and stylish for discreet installation in modern commercial establishments.
- 1.3 Megapixel Imager
- By employing a megapixel CMOS sensor, this camera is able to generate images of exceptional sharpness and color fidelity. Highly detailed images translate into better identification of people and objects, making this camera an ideal choice for monitoring entrances, checkout counters and similar areas of a critical security nature.
- Compact and Discreet Design
- A compact and stylish design helps the camera blend in with its immediate surroundings. This makes it particularly well suited for use in shopping malls, financial centers, office buildings and similar applications requiring dependable security monitoring but without overstating the camera's presence.
- Tamper Resistant Construction
- While not vandal proof, this camera incorporates a number of features such as internal dome cover attachment and tamper resistant screws to discourage tampering.
- Built-In Microphone for 2-Way Voice Communication
- By using an optional speaker together with this camera's built-in microphone, a PC user can hear and speak with a person at the camera location over the network. This is a very useful feature in numerous applications including retail stores, factories and transportation facilities.
- Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- In addition to operating on standard DC voltage, this camera, when used in conjunction with an optional PoE feeder, can be powered solely by its Ethernet cable. PoE makes it possible to install the camera in areas with no direct access to an AC outlet such as certain hallway and ceiling installations or when the camera is placed inside an outdoor housing. When used together with a UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply), PoE also has the ability to keep the camera running during a power outage.
- Simultaneous JPEG/MPEG-4 Streaming
- Video is captured simultaneously in both the JPEG and MPEG-4 compression formats. This will allow a user, for example, to view live images over a WAN in the fast MPEG-4 format and at the same time record high resolution JPEG images to a local LAN server.
- Built-in Motion Detection with Pre and Post Alarm Image Capture
- At the event of an alarm triggered by its internal motion detector, this camera can be set to start capturing images or transfer them to a server over the network. To ensure that users remain apprised of all conditions, the camera can also be set to send an alarm alert along with associated images to multiple Email addresses over the network. Images preceding and following an alarm condition are captured along with event footage, giving a user a better sense of an occurrence.
- Wall or Ceiling Mountable
- Using the supplied mounting hardware, this camera installs easily on a wall, hard or drop ceiling.
- Bundled Video Management Software
- Included with the camera is AC's video management software adding a whole bunch of features not available using a standard browser. Among other features, it assigns IP addresses to multiple cameras, monitors and displays camera and connection status, manages firmware upgrades and employs an elaborate password access system.
