The Axis Communications AXIS 223M uses a 2 megapixel sensor to produce images with quality levels four times that of a conventional camera. CCTV personnel know that the better the video quality the better the chances are of making a positive identification of people and objects, making this the camera of choice for critical surveillance environments such as banks and airports. Other important features include a Day/Night function for 24-hour dependable performance and 2-way audio for voice communication over a network.
- 2.0 Megapixel CCD with 1600 x 1200 Resolution
- Utilizing a 2 megapixel CCD imager, this camera is capable of capturing outstanding video quality with the clarity and color depth normally associated with digital still cameras. This will allow users to pick out details normally not seen by a conventional camera, which in turn can help in making a positive identification of a person or object.
- True Day/Night Function with IR Cut Filter
- To ensure the best possible image quality 24-hours a day, this camera auto switches from high resolution color during the day to an ultra sensitive B/W mode when light levels fall. This will allow camera installation in dimly lit areas or in areas with changing light levels. In B/W mode the camera is capable of producing visible images in light levels as low as 0.2 lux.
- High Level of Network Security
- A number of powerful security measures are incorporated to keep camera images protected from hackers and other network infiltrators. A few notable ones include support for IEEE802.1X to allow the direct connection to a secured network with port-based control, and HTTPS encryption to provide a secure channel to the camera and to enable authentication of the video source.
- Simultaneous JPEG/MPEG-4 Streaming
- Video is captured simultaneously in both the JPEG and MPEG-4 compression formats, giving a user complete control over the way data is distributed over the network. This type of versatility will allow a user, for example, to view live images over a WAN in the fast MPEG-4 format and at the same time record high resolution JPEG images to a local LAN server.
- 2-Way Voice Communication
- By attaching an optional microphone and speaker to this camera's audio I/O ports, a PC user can hear and speak with a person at the camera location over the network. This is an extremely useful feature in numerous applications including retail stores, factories and transportation facilities.
- Built-in Motion Detection with Pre and Post Alarm Image Capture
- At the event of an alarm triggered by its internal motion detector, this camera can be set to start capturing images or transfer them to a server over the network. To ensure that users remain apprised of all conditions, the camera will also send out an alarm alert along with associated images to multiple Email addresses over the network. Images preceding and following an alarm event are also captured, giving a user the full sense of an occurrence.
