The monitor is clear, bright, and beautiful, and has a wide gamut for color calibration work with photos. I like the monitor. I hate the manual. It does not mention how to find the RGB controls, which are very well hidden. To find them, you have to display the onscreen menu, then select a color temperature of "Custom." Then push the "Input" button. Nowhere in the manual are the RGB controls even mentioned, let alone how to use them. If you want to color calibrate this monitor, you need access to those controls!
The buttons on the front bezel are not actually buttons, but touch sensitive. They don't always work on the first touch, or second, or third. A true button that clicks would have been so much better.

I had my hopes high for this monitor but I was disappointed badly for the color and brightness not being uniform across the display. My monitor was magenta on the right and greenish on the left also brighter on the left and darker on the right. Color gamut was great but not useful since uniformity was not there. Power consumption was on the high side too. Top of the monitor felt quite warm. USB hub was a nice feature but it was located on the side causing all the wiring to show on the left side (did not look neat)
Tilt and up and down features were nice.
I called the tech support (not a toll free number) and after 20 min I was able to the tech man!! which was not helpful and as usual blamed it on the graphic card of my computer!! but when I mentioned that I have an Apple Cinema 23" attached to the same computer with no problem, he kind of got quiet and told me to send it in for evaluation.
I packed the monitor up and took it back to the store. I placed order with B&H for a NEC 24" monitor and hopefully I won't be disappointed again.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
I'm a professional Photographer and have a small Graphics Lab at work. Started using these monitors back when 19" was considered big. I have 2 319's a 321, 2 324's and now I'm shopping for a 526. Never had a lick of trouble and they all match the output from 3 different printers spot-on. Get the Blue-eye calibrator with it, it'll save you many headaches.
I do agree that the touch buttons are a pain, but you get the hang of them eventually.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
The color and accuracy of this monitor is outstanding. It has one issue - humming noise. It's very noticeable, and quite annoying. It sounds like the monitor has a big transformer in it when ON. Otherwise no complains whatsoever.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
I use it to edit photos with Photoshop Element 7.
The size is perfect - great details without the need to enlarge the photos as often.
The colors are great - very vibrant or vivid, perhaps too much or with a touch of oversaturation. I used Spyder 3Pro to calibrate it and the colors are not the same as on my Pentax K20D. Some work to do yet.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
The one I got was a piece of junk. It had a dead pixel in it as well as a non-functioning button on the front. When you pay this much for a monitor, I expect it to be perfect. It shows me that there is obviously NO quality control there at LaCie.

Never thought spending a lot on a monitor was worth it even though I am a professional photographer spending hours in front of one. This monitor captures detail, color and shading in and extraordinary maner.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
I replaced a Viewsonic VP monitor with the 324, to use primarily with Photoshop and NX2. Out of the box, the colors were more brilliant than any monitor I have ever seen. The LaCie 324 calibrates perfectly with Eye-one Display 2, however the brightness must be brought down for photo applications.
I have not tried the monitor with games, other than Flight Sim X (which blew me away). Also, I had read reviews about uneven colors. Not this one. It's perfect, edge-to-edge.

First monitor I received from B&H was cyan on left and red on right. Even one of my clients walked in the day after I got it and asked what was wrong with my new monitor before I said anything about it.LaCie sent me a replacement. (Their customer service is great -) It too had the same problem, and it had vertical lines that only went away by turning it off and on again. Then LaCie customer support sent me another one. The third had the same color issues, and it would not stay on. So I returned them all [...] and ordered a Eizo CG241W. It was more than twice the price - but the color is the same on the right and left side of the screen - and it profiles itself without having to guess at the RGB values that the LaCie required. For non critical color- the LaCie looked great - it was sharp and had vivid colors.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
I am a photographer who runs his business from his home. A color calibrated monitor is a must for me. Anyway, when my old CRT took on a greenish hue, I knew it was time to upgrade.
After reading reviews of monitors, I settled on the LaCoe 324. (I also have an Apple 20" Cinema Display hooked up to my computer.) The Apple display has a great picture, but I was blown away when i hooked up the hi-definition LaCie! The picture is very crisp; and using the third party calibration software, which I already owned, the colors are right on. (The colors looked very good right out of the box, btw.)
The adjustable height makes it easy to position it just right. And the 3 USB ports on the side have come in very handy for me.
The only downside I've found with this monitor comes during hookup. The ports are tucked away on the back side and are difficult to reach. But that is very minor, since you only use them once.
I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone who is in the market for a 24". (I've already recommended it to a couple of friends.)

The monitor appear to be a good value, once it's set up. My only complaint is that the adjustment controls are almost unusable. It took me about 5 times as long to use them as I would have spent with actual buttons.

Best monitor I've ever used. Literally eased the headaches I used to get sitting in front of a screen.
Great color. Terrific phot definition and resolution.
Easy to set up, though manual is truly only a one-star document.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
Just purchased this monitor and before I even calibrated it, I could see a difference from my old Mitsubishi 2060u. After calibrating with my GMB i1 Display 2, it was amazing. The advertised color gamut is no lie, the greens look outstanding. Unfortunately, aside from photo editing, I also do gaming. It should be noted that the colors in games on this monitor are just as outstanding as for photo editing, but there is some input lag and ghosting. After doing a barrage of testing I came up with an average 44ms input lag vs. my 2060u and about a 12ms pixel persistence. Not horrible for a LCD, but compared to a CRT it can be noticed. The touch sensitive menu buttons are a bit problematic when calibrating. On the positive side, the monitor came with no dead pixels that I can see. Overall, this monitor is a fantasic buy and I denfinately recommend it.

Comments about LaCie 324 24" Widescreen LCD Computer Monitor:
This monitor came highly recommended from other pros and I have to tell you, I was very pleased right from the moment I turned the monitor on. Not only is the real estate an impressive 24", after tweaking with a reputable calibrator, the accuracy of the color is right on. Can't complain about the price either - all other pro monitors were just way too expensive to justify the cost - until now. High quality, big display and accurate color at an affordable price. Just can't beat it.
