The camera has everything you need to make shooting fast easy and fun, including a large 2.5-inch LCD and a full range of performance features including enhanced Face Detection & Motion Detection technology. It also has the DIGIC III Image Processor to keep every image looking its best. The PowerShot A470 also features high quality construction, and stylish, pocket-size design, making it a perfect take-along camera.

• 7.1 Megapixel Resolution: With 7.1 megapixels of resolution, you'll be able to capture superb detail and color resulting in beautiful prints with excellent sharpness and clarity at print sizes of over 16 x 20".

• 3.4x Optical Zoom Lens: The 3.4x optical zoom lens is made to Canon's demanding specifications, and is capable of shooting close-ups, group shots or scenery. The addition of the 4x digital zoom also provides the ability to really single out details from a distance.

• 2.5" LCD Display: The 2.5-inch high-resolution LCD screen gives you a big picture that is crisp, clear, and bright. It also features Night Display for easy viewing in low light.

• DIGIC III Image Processor with iSAPS Technology: Canon's DIGIC III Image Processor improves processing speed and image quality, and assures that every image is colorfully vibrant while enabling Canon's Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to give you better, more true-to-life people shots. iSAPS is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

• Face Detection Technology: The PowerShot A470 features Face Detection Technology, which finds up to 9 faces in the frame and sets the most suitable focus point. In addition, Face Detection AE adjusts exposure and flash settings to ensure proper illumination of both the faces and the overall scene, eliminating the common problem of darkened or overexposed faces, and Face Detection WB means the camera concentrates upon faces when calculating white balance for the best possible skin tones. In addition, Face Select and Track lets the A470 user highlight one face among several in a scene, and the camera concentrates on that person, even as they move around the scene.

• Motion Detection Technology: The advanced Motion Detection Technology works in the background to instantly evaluate how fast your subject is moving. Then it automatically selects and sets the optimal exposure and ISO settings to keep everything looking sharp and clear.

• Intuitive Mode Dial: Simply turn the Mode Dial to the needed setting to handle any shooting condition. Choose from Auto, Manual, Movie, or Special Scene where you can select from settings such as Night, Snow, Indoor, Beach and more to get the best possible image.

• Easy Vertical Shooting: The PowerShot A470 lets you shoot great Vertical Images more conveniently. Turn the camera, and then just press the Print/Share Button. Instantly, the camera displays your scene in the proper vertical orientation. You don't have to worry about re-arranging your hand position so you're free to concentrate on setting your scene, composing your shot or coaxing subjects to smile.

• Powered By AA-size Batteries: The camera uses common AA-size batteries that can be purchased at any store so you don't need to worry about running out of batteries or recharging batteries - simply get new ones locally. You can also use economical NiMH Rechargeable AA batteries.

• Easy, Flexible Direct Printing Options: The camera supports direct printing using the Canon Direct Print system or the PictBridge system, so you can print without a computer on many different brands and models of printers. The Direct Print feature also allows for image preview and editing (including cropping) on the camera before you begin printing, so your printed pictures are exactly what you need. Also, the Print/Share button is an easy way to transfer images directly to a computer when the camera is connected via the USB cable.
