The OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Micro is designed to fit a lens and shade with a diameter from approximately 2.25-2.5". Simply placing the Hood Hat onto the front of the hood while in place will provide just as much protection for the critical front lens elements as would be provided by a traditional lens cap. The neoprene material will adjust to fit both round and elliptical "petal-type" shades.

i use this as a "protective" cover on my Olympus SP-800uz.... if i am just walking through the zoo with my kids and my camera is on.. i just slide it over to lense to keep dust, etc out, so i dont have to shut my camera off every few min.
great investment!

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Micro:
Roger and Frances Hicks told me about Hood Hats when I told them I had burned out two Leica M shutters on a trip to Mexico. I had no idea this solution was available and I now have one for all my M lenses. No more fiddling with fussy cap and hood combinations. The Hood Hat blocks out the sun and protects the lens and hood from damage, and you see it immediately in the viewfinder, so there is no chance of shooting with it on. A terrific product. Worth every penny.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Micro:
This is a wonderful product. I use it instead of a lens cap on my rangefinder (Zeiss) lenses, but slipping it on directly over the lens shade: it's faster to put on and off than the lens cap and it provides some extra impact protection too.

Comments about OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Micro:
I was never happy with the various lens caps I had for my Canonet (few worked with my Hoya 48mm lens hood) so I thought I'd try a hood hat.
Works like a charm and it stays on well. It doesn't do a great job of keeping dust out, but the brush on the lens pen I carry around takes care of it. A+ for usefulness.
