The Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital camera provides images with up to 8 effective megapixels of resolution and a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens for incredibly sharp and detailed images. The addition of Nikon Electronic Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization technology along with a Sensitivity equivalent to ISO 2000 ensures that your photos will always look great - regardless of lighting conditions or subject movement.
All of these features are mediated by Nikon's innovative EXPEED image processing system which provides enhanced noise reduction and improved signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio. Furthermore, the camera's slim, quality-crafted aluminum body delivers high performance and ease-of-operation in a package that you can carry around with you - always.
The Nikon S210 also makes shooting incredibly easy with user-friendly imaging innovations known as Nikon In-camera Innovations. These include In-Camera Red-Eye Fix which automatically detects and corrects red eye, a common condition that occurs in flash photography, D-Lighting which compensates for excessive backlight or insufficient flash in images, and Face Priority AF which automatically finds and focuses on up to 12 people's faces within one frame, ensuring clear, crisp portraits. Furthermore, the 210 includes Nikon's Coolpix Software Suite for organizing, editing and sharing your photos.
The Coolpix S210 incorporates a bright, high resolution 2.5-inch LCD monitor with a wide viewing angle that has an anti-reflective coating, thereby easing the composition and viewing of photos even in direct sunlight, and an acrylic panel over the LCD that prevents damaging scratches and fingerprints. The S210 also boasts improved menu displays, as well as revised menu icons that will make framing photos easier than ever before.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera (Plum):
For a re-furbished camera, this unit looked brand new. All the factory stuff (charger, etc.) came with it. It works great, and is very compact. The controls are intuitive enough that I have only had to look at the manual a few times.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera (Plum):
This is not my first tiny pocket camera. I used a Sony DSC-T1 for almost five years and finally couldn't handle the lack of image stabilization any longer. (With any of these "credit card" size cameras, depending on the conditions under which you are shooting, hand shake can be a problem.) I have a Canon 10D and an S3, but I like to have a camera with me at all times, so the form factor with the Nikon S210 was a major aspect of my selection plus the excellent price.
Nikon has packed a great deal into this little package. I would have liked a 5x zoom, but since this is an 8 megapixel camera, you can always fudge and get "poor man's zoom" in cropping so the 3x works fine for me. Color saturation is excellent, but you can't control the level of the flash, which will lead to washed out images until you make friends with exposure control. It's right there on the control dial on the back, so it isn't hard to find. I leave mine at +3 and occasionally take it down to +7. (One of my cats has very bright, white fur. If I don't take the exposure compensation down, all that white just burns in.)
Although I like to control what is and is not in focus in my images, I do like the ability to turn on the face recognition for snap shots. I was also pleasantly surprised at the quality of black and white photography with the S210. I've done no color or level correction on any of the pictures I've taken, color or black and white.
The form factor can't be beat, yet the camera feels solid in your hand. The controls are logically located -- you won't need the manual to start taking shots immediately. I really like the fact that there's memory on board for those instances when you get somewhere, want to take a picture, and remember that your memory card is in the reader back at the house.
All in all this is an excellent little camera with robust controls and pleasing performance. An excellent snapshot camera or second camera that's small enough to drop in your pocket. I'm quite pleased with my purchase and the plum color is fun.

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera (Plum):
I found myself going to Rome for a wedding and needed something small but good. This camera fit the bill. It fit easily in my little purse for the wedding along with my hotel keys, my wallet and a bathing suit ( there was a pool at the reception-it's Rome). The pictures where close to great resolution but not quite there. That would be my only issue with it. But it was really good in all lighting situations and I came home with amazing memories and fantastic photos!

Comments about Nikon Coolpix S210 Digital Camera (Plum):
It isn't that I dislike the camera but I have had to mess around with it a lot to get a nice clean crisp photo. I was recently in NYC and it's night time capacity was dissapointing. I prefer my EOS20D even though it is 4years old now it is easier to use.

My daughter make a don't professional use; she is very satisfied; in night shots a viewfinder should be welcome; in professional use perhaps the macro distance should be smaller.
